Stat Explanations

------------
Body: 6 - "Significantly above human average (adult)."
------------

Hohoho! Let's not let Minako-sama's ego catch wind of such a descriptor~!

An athletic lass, she keeps herself in shape. Her involvement in various sporting
activities as one of the Four Aces (explained later) keeps her in tip-top shape!
Heaven forbid she slip in her regimen and lose her edge! The blow to her fragile
confidence and the stain on her reputation would just crush her!

Or something. Mmm... cake....

------------
Mind 4: - "Human average (adult)."
------------

Hear that naysayers? Average. Not below average. Not painfully below average. And
certainly not hovering in the negatives either. Nyah.

Minako is smart enough, mind you. She just has an attention span that baffles the
scientific community as a whole. Her mind hop skotches from thought to thought and
she can get distracted by the next "shiny object". A quality that amuses and
frustrates the people who know her best.

Her attention span found a loving life partner in laziness. This more than anything
is what kills Minako. She doesn't study, banking on simply what she hears in class
to get her by, but it's when her attention isn't focused on the lecture that the
academic woes set in and cause her grades to-- BUTTERFLY!

------------
Soul 8: - "Extremely capable."
------------

What more needs to be said about the soul of this innocent young maiden? You hear
that? All the blood donations have made this girl's heart pure! P-U-R-E!!
Bwahahahahaha!

------------
Acrobatics, Agility, Fast Reflexes
------------

The "Flying Somersault Recieve" - a Minako Aino signature move - was a product of
hard work and skill! But most of it is from natural skill, of course.

Being quick on your feet helps on the field with sports, in the arcade, and when
you're trying to sneak by mother. Hmm. Then maybe it's from survival instincts?

------------
Appearance, Distraction
------------

Not to brag, but need we say anything more? Honestly, it's sometimes a burden to
be gifted with such beauty. *cue dramatic pose*

------------
Easily Distracted
------------

Like a happy little magpie, the dreaded 'shiny object' seems to distract Mina-chan
from her tasks. But it's not her fault, honest! What distracts her vary and their
numbers multiply wildly like evil... mushrooms. Ick.

The random attractive male, pretty clothes, cute animals, wild gossip, sob stories,
toys... The sadly massive list goes on and on and on and on....

Family and Friends

------------
Kazuki Aino
------------
Her dear father, the embodiment of "blah" in Minako's life. Not that she doesn't
love him, but he's soooooooo very dull. From his "no-frills" glasses (the black,
plastic frame variety) to his everyman haircut, he's a model businessman who gets
his work done and keeps his head down.

Underappreciated, underpaid, he is simply a drone in the wave of the Japanese
working class. A shame since he could be so much more, as his varied hobbies and
activities outside the office can attest. With his trusty, well-worn camera he's
inadverdently ingrained a photogenic knack in young Minako.

His one great hobby is for the arts - photography and painting - but he lacks the
confidence and drive to set him down the course as a full fledge profession. But
if mother and daughter have any say on the matter....

------------
Chidori Aino
------------
Oh, mother dearest. Undeniably the genetic source of poor Minako's foibles and
eccentricities. She's an older version of our wacky heroine, simply toned down by
time and the rigors of day to day life. Perhaps a glimpse into the future life
that awaits Mina-chan? Not if our heroine has any say about it!

The woman truly and dearly loves her family. Though if you took her words literally
you'd swear she was in the market for replacements. Between her unmotivated husband
and slacking, bubble-headed daughter she has much to deal with. Le sigh.

Even if she tends to come across as a nag with how she harps on father and
daughter, it's really out of love that she does it. Or so she likes to
dramatically exclaim at any rate. The popular speculation amongst the nag-ees is
that she needs a new hobby, or something. *cough*

------------
Otsuhime Konno
------------

The maternal grandmother. If her mother wasn't proof enough, her mother's mother is
all the evidence necessary that Minako's daughter will be born as wacky as the
woman who will give birth to her. Poor girl.

She lives in the country side, away from the 'evils of the big city life'. She
lives comfortably in the home that her husband built by hand. A large plot of land
that she currently shares with 8 koi fish, 4 cats, 3 dogs, 2 bunnies, a turtle
named Fuji, and a cast of who-knows-from-where out of luck folks of varying age.

How does a little old lady manage to afford to live by herself and take in folks at
the same time? Get the entire town she's in involved with the hot springs/resort
that she's got setup of course. With enough whisperings into the winds of rumor and
a few well-placed ads have the place marked as a destination for the particular
women who want to maintain their appearances. Curative water, charms of all shapes
and form, as well as the scenic country/mountainside brings tourist and revenue
pumping.

Minako's fuzzy memory of the woman was of a stern, yet easy going lady who
wasn't afraid of laughing out loud or speaking her mind (or what was left of it).
The fossil had enough superfulous mental baggage to warrant a then six-years old
Mina-chan to refer to her as the "kooky old bat".

The moniker might seem harsh, but grandmother and grand-daughter share a special
banter. Perhaps from the fact that Minako shares so many traits with the old woman,
a point of fact that gets brought up with relishment, much to Minako's horror.

------------
The Four Aces
------------

Competition can be fierce and when taken to the extreme it can sometimes get
downright ugly. In this case though, none of the negatives came into play. During
the course of Minako's torturous education came relief in the form of competitive
sports. It all began with volleyball tournaments and from there a clash of rivals
soon lead to the forming of lasting friendships.

The nickname of "The Four Aces" was dubbed by a local paper covering the annual
matchup of the top junior high schools in various sporting events - Shibakouen
Junior High and Takamatsu Junior High - with their respective top female athletes
coming to be known as the "Aces".

Minako, attending Shibakouen Junior High, was aptly dubbed the "Ace of Hearts"
along with her partner Hikaru Hoshino the "Ace of Diamonds". Takamatsu Junior
High toted the pair of Yumi Takai and Ren Kitano, the "Ace of Clubs" and "Ace of
Spades" respectively.

Initially kept to the volleyball courts, this rivalry spilled into other sporting
events - women's soccer, softball, track, basketball, tennis, etc. - an aspect
that helped grab the attention of the reporter. When simple rivalry boiled away,
the chance to just see one another became the primary reason.

------------
Hikaru Sorano
------------

http://sailorv.animehunters.com/allies_soranohikaru.html

Minako's cohort and second-in-command in sporting events. She seems to go along
with the whims of the flighty blonde for one reason or another. The answer she
always seems to give Mina-chan when she does ask is because "doing things with
Mina-chan is always so interesting". A reply which always leaves Minako wondering
if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Hikaru takes a shine to peculiar things. The ordinary always seems to bore her to
tears so whenever she runs across something off the beaten tracks, she goes for it.
Her room serves testament to her peculiar taste as an assortment of trinkets seems
to occupy shelves and wall space like a showcase of the weird and weirder.

Her current interest is in art. An appropriate venue for Hikaru to vent her...
creative spirit. A truly unique soul, yet an ever-present and trustworthy friend.
If you can catch her at a time when her mind isn't wandering she can impart true
wisdom, but if you don't, you might find yourself the canvas to her colorful
imagination.

------------
Yumi Takai
------------

So similar, yet so different describes this girl well.

Minako is confident and outgoing, Yumi is arrogant and boastful. Cute and perky,
sexy and flirtatious.

She was a great source for young Mina's frustrations in the early years. Her every
laugh, toss of her hair, knowing look would grate on nerves and be the spark for
their usual "war squabbles".

Get through the thick, thick, thick - did I mention thick? - layers of over inflated
egotism and arrogance and Yumi is a generally nice girl. One just has to fight past
the initial knee jerk want to strangle the girl to find the gem of a soul that was
buried so very, very, very deep, as Minako discovered. Oi.

------------
Ren Kitano
------------

Ren doesn't quite share Yumi's exuberance, but she never did have the heart to
tell her friend 'no' whenever Yumi wanted to get involved in this or that.

Not particularly shy, just reserved and laid back. Truly the oddball of the group
because of the stigma attached to her as being a rebel without care and the like.
Anyone who's taken the time to get to know the real Ren has found her to be a
peculiar, yet gentle person.

She has a hard time getting across what it is she wants to say at times so Ren
tends to keep quiet, act aloof, or give simple non-verbal responses.

A truly quirky girl. Hard to pin down what goes on in her head at times, but then,
that's been said about Minako as well. She tends to grow on you as time goes on
and by the time you realize it, she's become someone you don't want to go without.

The most skilled girl in the group when it comes to cooking, sewing, and the like.
Her attempts to teach Minako and Yumi always leaves Hikaru with the biggest grin.

Background story to be added later.
Liddo-kun: Bjorn is the rain gutter in which all the dirty thoughts of humanity flow into?
Bjorn: I prefer, instead, to think of myself as the crap that blocks the rain gutters, causing the dirty thoughts of humanity to back up, fill the streets, and flood your basements.
