I have a dream that one day, men will be punched in the face not for the color of their skin, but for the awful content of their character.

As a fanfiction reader I have several requirements for a story to become one of my favorites.  It usually has to have a good plot, characters that are IN character, keeps me interested, and often times it has to be long enough to keep me occupied for a while.

That being said, the Journeyverse series is amongst my absolute favorites.

It starts off in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe and not only stays there (most of the time) but it pulls other fandoms into it as well through the journey of Xander Harris on his summer road trip.  Immortals, aliens, secret agents, gods, witches, adventurers.  They are all there and are slowly pulled into the battle of good versus evil where sometimes the worst thing that can happen is having the good guys on your side.

It's hard to summarize such a long series into something as small as a review so I won't even try.  I will say this though: the story is superb and more than once I've chomped at the bit in order to read the next chapter of the story.

Current at well over 11 megs of html text the series is a lot of fun to read and each story is well worth it on its own.

Still if you decide to take my word for it and check it out I can only say that you need to start from the beginning.

It might have something to do with Xander going toe-to-toe with a Predator in the first chapter.

Maybe. >_>

Bwahahahahahaha!

Okay I probably should have said that this is what I read when I want to kill a few HOURS of time.

I managed to stick with it until the first interlude. Its a god-Ranma fic, only with Xander filling the role of Ranma. Is there any reason I should continue forward? Does it, perhaps, stop marginalizing the slayer, give them an enemy that's worth a damn, or at the very least nerf Xander's power somewhat?

This is why MageOhki likes it. And after hearing him jabber on it for hours and hours, I feel I don't even need to read it to judge it. Especially since I don't care about Buffy.

Actually my favorite part of the series doesn't start until you get to the Year Zero portion.

Unfortunately it won't make any sense unless you read all the previous parts. (Well all the previous parts in the original Journeyverse section.)
