You know, stuff.

FOXCAT updated.

Tales of the Foxcat even.

It hat tea ceremony super-death.  It was pretty awesome.
Well, Goodbye.

Beautiful Destroyer Sailor Moon updated.

It intro'd both Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Mars.

Sailor Mars is adorable reimi-styled.  Don't badmouth her crows or she'll send an army of them after you.  Also give to the donation box.  Never steal from it.

Or shall have them deface your car serious style, like the wrath of an angry crow.

So on the inaccessible side, there's still wonton sex and perversion as a general off-color tone in a fair number of side scenes.  "Hey ami, don't hang up..you're an artist right?  Want to watch?"

But...Outside of that, these scouts are in many ways the most badass take on scouts I've yet seen.  Sure once in a while, one of them is super cool in a story, but it really feels like the whole set so far is pretty awesome.  Indestructable Moon, Ghostly Superspeed Mercury, "He Really Is Batman!" Tuxedo Kamen, Outrageously Strong Martial Artist "Stop being so showy, keep hitting until they STAY DOWN" Jupiter, and "Don't badmouth my crows, FACEPUNCH!" (or "I think I might've killed jadeite.  He hit my crows and I kind of set him on fire repeatedly until he stopped screaming!") Mars.  Oh yeah, Time Guardian Pluto is there, but she only showed up to wipe out the early season time control youma so far.

It's like a more shonen take on sailor moon than shoujo, where you get the impression that the Youma need to watch where they walk, generals have to plan plot and deal with superheroes that kick ass rather than casually viewing them as little girls.  "So, this is how we're going to form a trap that will let us kill the Indestructable Good Guy and neutralize each of her allies."  The scouts are also decisively not passive.  They plot on how to deal with the bad guys, decide how they're going to keep them here, hunt down allies intentionally, and dish out counterplans to neutralize Jadeite's tricks.  It's a lot different tone to have them not passively ignoring hundreds of people being drained, but chasing down any word of that happening and bringing the fight right to them.  "No, I didn't just happen across your ice cream scam."

So yes, horribly perverted subtones, but there could do to be more sailor moon takes where the scouts feel dangerous and awesome.

Also read some FateBlack Reflection ( http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5591380/1/FateBlack_Reflection ) which is kinda neat.  Some fanon silliness (NAKAMA), but overall a pretty neat blend of Bleach and Fate/Stay Night.  Ichigo accidentally steals Rider's summon call by sheer power while there to investigate the 4th fate war.  The whole bleach crew is around and the story leaps about between them and the fate crew.  A lot of it so far revolves around how things change with a master in the game that can and does overpower some of the strongest noble phantasms out there.  Alliances form as the various original players try and figure out how to deal with or neutralize having a master that just throws off the power curve hard as well as there actually being side effects from near death experiences (like in bleach).

Oh and Bazett is around, with a restored arm.
Well, Goodbye.

Eh, that SM fanfic lost me a few chapters ago.  It's just trying too hard.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

My feelings about all that author's stories, sadly.

In other news, Brian finished Later. Easily my favorite Haruhi story. Happy to see it completed, sad to see it go. Though I guess this means his other two fics I'm reading will update faster. . .

The Ranma fic is pure shit, but I regret the SM fic is going that way. It has some fun ideas mixed in there. No comment on his other fics, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Truly, the world needs more MOTIVATION.
Well, Goodbye.

Dracos

Another chapter of BDSM.

Sadly the competing stories of super awesome "SUDDENLY NINJAS" and "Motivation: to Reach the Heavens" have been quiet.  Very quiet.
Well, Goodbye.

Hogyoku ex Machina updated, and thank you Drac for putting me on to that one.

Big Human on Campus updated last month? How did I miss that?

Dracos

It updated twice!  Very awesome :)
Well, Goodbye.

Dracos

Some new in flight lately.

I kinda think it was wussing out with how the big reveal was delivered, but given that at least a few of the characters are established "Discretion, what is that?" folks, I suppose I can't blame it for lacking epic storytelling.
Well, Goodbye.

thepanda

What is in flight? FF.net's search is terrible.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6556187/1/In_Flight  Gabriel Blessing's latest gigantofic.  Post Fate Stay/night crossed with Sekeirei - "What do you mean this is a mating ritual and not a war to the death?"
Well, Goodbye.

Big Human on campus updated.

Also been reading Hill of Swords. Two-thirds of the way through and I don't know if I'll finish it. In flight seems a bit better put together, if a bit slower. Was kind of hoping there would be more Nasu in his crossovers, though.
