Incidentally, the writer's profile characterizes herself as a "wordslut" yet commits the lose/loose error twice in the first scene.  So I was prepared to stop reading after the first two scenes, but the writing managed to recover itself after that point.

REad the first chapter...it's missing a lot.  I don't really care for casually skipping 'and these things have happened'.

f you're trying to read the story in order, then yeah.  But pacing is and scene setups are okay in areas spots if poor in others, and the annoying bits feel like first draft issues* rather than someone trying to force a fundamentally bad premise.  e.g, if chapters 1 and 2 were combined together, had some judicious use of flashback, and some judicious editing (scene with Goemon should be dropped entirely), it could be pretty good.

Did you read this author's other Negima!/Ranma crossover? In that one I could actually believe (somewhat) that that character might be Ranma. This story? Not so much. That one-shot story did more in one chapter to make me feel like there was an actual story the author wanted to tell than all the chapters in this.

How did Dracos put it? Ranma-shaped person? With Wings! And super-duper Ki! And Bigotted! And cynical! And (apparently) abandoned by EVERY PERSON IN NERIMA FOR NO REAL REASON! And just needs a hug! And coincidentally dislikes all the characters the author dislikes! And shit rainbows!

... Ok, maybe she doesn't shit rainbows, but would you be surprised if she did? Its like those Sailor Moon crossover stories that plagued the net when toonami was still on the air. You know the ones where Usagi finds out Mamoru is cheating on her with another senshi (usually Rei), then they'd kick her out of the group and try to take her crystal, but she'd flee! And now she's a super-duper gundam pilot/space pirate/bounty hunter/whatever! But she's cynical because of her past! But really all she needs is some love from the cast she's crossed-over with! Or something!

What makes it worse is that she can write better than that. The proof is in her other stories. Even including the crappy Genma scene in Bulletproof that's still heads above her writing here.

It's a Haruhi fic about Haruhi and (more) Tsuruya.

This has two short prequels, which ... won't do anything for you at all if you don't know Tsuruya's character.  Mostly they get explained in this story, except for a totally dismiss-able bit about the Snow Mountain Adventure.

I found it quite interesting, even if parts of it were annoyingly simple -- especially contrasted to....  Well.  You'll see.  The ending is pretty damn awesome -- saved the story for me, really.  In all honesty, I didn't much like Haruhi or how she handled things -- but it made sense.  Sasaki, OTOH....

...I need to write a Sasaki/Kyon matchup now.

Yes, although in that one, there was barely any Negima, whining Ranma, and it's an introduction that takes way too long.  You know how the first line of a story is supposed to be the represent the story?  That one has the "first line" somewhere at the 3/4 mark.  Scene transitions and basic dialogue was somewhat better in that one, though.

This story? Not so much.

I agree that Ranma who is automatically given a 9000+ powerlevel is prima facie annoying.  But it's only used as the hook to keep Ranma in Negimaland, which means it doesn't reappear past the one fight.  There really isn't much in the following chapters that couldn't be written to a non-entity Ranma.  And I suppose that is what find that to be potentially interesting - this fic might actually break away from bad fanfic convention after casting itself in that way.
