Short fic, playing with a simple and rather chilling concept. The execution is stark and to the point, managing some horror at the encroaching changes. I think it could've stood to be longer and drawn things out, but eh. It's hard to write that sort of story and do it well. As a one shot it works well enough.

So yeah, woke up on the roof of a Tijuana whorehouse again. Who needs kidneys? Anyway, that fic there isn't bad. It's a fun premise that has Ranma and Kasumi switch bodies. Naturally hijinks ensue and people try to adapt and fix the transference.

That was by Miko, right?  I remember that fic from when it was posted to the FFML, back in the day.

Decided not to follow it, mainly because the bits of "Well, now that you're Kasumi, you need to act like Kasumi" seemed to be a outgrowth of "Ranma, you're stuck as a girl, so it would be complete good for your sanity to take on all traditional female roles, despite the fact that you aren't one and weren't for most of your life".  I'd gotten sick of those fics at that point.

That said, that's a personal gripe.  If you enjoy that sort of fic, then maybe this one will work for you.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6880685/1/Well_in_Hand  Read some of this.  In a way, it's a weaker try at what time braid did.  Sakura gets kidnapped by kyubei and sent back in time with him.  Their goal?  Well, Konoha is flourishing, things are going awesome, sure.

But Naruto didn't make it and that isn't right.  He shouldn't have died an unknown martyr.  Sakura's husband (the hokage) cheats on her constantly.  They're going to set things right.

The idea is kind of interesting, but it seems to be dodging in a sense the things that would make it more interesting.  hum, actually to put it  in a word, it's trust.  The Sakura in this doesn't actually trust anyone.  Oh, sure she thinks certain people are great and understands Naruto more, but she still hasn't told a single person the truth.  There's no Hinata here who knows what's going on too.

Hinata meanwhile is training herself into the ground to beat Sakura's ass.  Why?  I don't know, or rather, it's missing the scene that explains it.  It's just sort of happening.  Clearly one can read between the lines, stalker Hinata realized that hyper-active Sakura is spending lots of time with Naruto, but the whole scene with the realization is skipped.

Anyhow, neat in a way, but not quite as neat as certain other fics.  Still worth sharing.
