Apparently rather than 3-4 years forward, they moved 20.  Also, lots of OCs suddenly who are also basically outsmarting the main crew.  Leading character is also bed-ridden.

Kind of a sudden 'Burning the Sails' moment.

I suppose.  But after most characters being resoundingly competent in the past, it's kind of a throwback to put "And now the incompetent gang takes the stage".

I mean, sure, they lost.  But at least they were doing a believable cloak and daggers war leading up to it.  Now it's OC gang leading the charge which...is less endearing.

It beats Grant Morrison's Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader for Batman dying/afterlife commentaries. This is an incredibly low bar to get over, but Bruce Wayne as the Spectre is a really neat concept.

I hated mysterious manipulative Pluto from the instant that scene started. I'm beyond sick and tired of that overhashed stereotype and could live with never seeing it again. I'm so wretchedly over it that I nearly closed the tab then and there. Once I got over my urge to heave, the rest of the chapter was solid. I find the author's Ranma and writing style grow on me more each chapter. The magic and reasoning behind how the fic works is really good, too. Ranma studying how a magical girl's magic works and duplicating is cool and it doesn't come off as being stupid or god mode Ranma in the fic.

The premise of Eureka (fic) is that that ... the setting of Eureka (TV show) takes place with anime characters in Japan.

If you're not familiar with Eureka, it's pretty crazily wacky.  If you are, it's ... well ... Eureka.  With anime characters.  In Japan.
