Ranma and Shampoo play an Asian-themed Jumanji.  It's a pretty obvious setup for Ranma and Shampoo right off the bat.  The action scenes seem decent.  To the writer's credit, the writer doesn't make them fall instantly in love by chapter 2 and proceed to bash anyone and everyone else for the next 4235 chapters.

There's still a bit of bashing going on, though, with characters ranting at Akane for half the chapter explaining why she sucks.  This sort of thing needs a really good setup to pull it off without it the writer's bias mucking with the story itself.  Power, for example, does it well (it was still obvious, but by the time the rant came, you either agreed with it or probably weren't reading the fic any longer.  And it works at being respectful to Akane's view).  This story, not so much.

Also, it spends four chapters setting up the story and before suddenly pulling a sudden shift.  It's not a surprise since the writer does foreshadow the occurrence, but ... four chapters to the actual fic?  Really?

Essentially, I think it's readable you're looking for a Ranma-fic fix and liked Shampoo.  Probably less so, otherwise.

I've been meaning to give that fic a shot. I read the first bit of it awhile ago but it never stuck. I should probably give it another try since the author's stuck with it.

Ranma/SM/Multicross.  I generally dislike multicross fics, but I think this one works.   The only other multicross I've ever posted in this thread was Eurika.  Compared to that one, this has a bit more depth in subject matter - it has its silly moments, but those rely on the reader's knowledge of a shoutout or a particular series rather than slapstick within the confines of the fic itself (e.g the name of the "new" sentai team in Justice ch 18).

One caveat is that it was Truth was written in 2001, so there's a bit of a shift in how smoothly some of the scenes work.  It's still not bad, but there's a observable difference in writing between then and now.

A Prototype/Spiderman crossover, but it could be called a Spiderman AU with Marvel characters and Prototype elements.  Peter Parker doesn't get his traditional spidey-powers, but something else...

Surprisingly well though out plot and involves a fair bit of character interaction.  A few characters are basically well written OC's with familiar names.  Updates are short, but regular.  Currently over 200,000 words.

Bleach AU in a Darkish(?) Space-Cyberpunk setting.  Extract from summary: "Familiar storyline reimagined as an epic sci-fi narrative."

You don't need much knowledge of Bleach to read it, but seeing how sword wielding grim reapers, soul eating monsters and various others translate into the setting is both amusing and interesting.  Apparently its the 1st in a Trilogy, but the updates have slowed down a lot since 2012.  Currently over 200,000 words.

Summary
"A tiny, monster-infested valley in rural Japan is no place for a Wonderland, even in 1884."

Touhou Fanfiction, hands down one of the best I've ever read.  Very, very different from your average "Such and such happens in Gensokyo" Touhou fanfiction, so don't expect well known characters to pop up regularly.  Its set in 1884 and, as far as I can tell, everyone speaks like they really are in the 19th century.  Lots of stealth references to look out for, not just for Touhou either.  Hasn't been updated since Christmas Eve last year.  Currently just under the 90,000 word mark.

Sure! We don't bite. Well, except for Drac. But in any case, feel free to post away.

How much Bleach knowledge is necessary?  I couldn't really stand the anime/manga, so didn't get too far into it.  I know that it features people using swords to hit dead people, but not too much more than that.

A far-future post-ep 12 Madoka fic.  Since the main character is a new character, it's pretty much an original world-building fic.  That's not to say that the other characters from Madoka don't have significant roles, but the drastically different setting and character changes that result from the setup make them essentially new characters.

I'd call it speculative fiction, if you consider magical girls from a eudaimonic society fighting in spacewar to be speculative fiction.

I'd honestly say none, really.  You could read it like a stand alone fic.  It's just a bit funnier if you know the canon character relationships cause then you can compare how they differ.

EDIT: Also the Japanese names for stuff makes more sense then. I.e. Karakura town --> Karakura Space Station

DK:A finally updated again. Yay! In a shocking turn of events and a terrible spoiler, Ami's life just got even more difficult. Act surprised.

Spoiler: ShowHide
The dwarves mobilizing isn't a surprise now that they've detected Ami. That's going to be a big old mess, dunno if dwarves care about Ami's title or not. On the other hand, a new keeper for Ami to beat up could be promising.

Spoiler for God Slaying Blade Works, but not a huge one. [spoiler]

Okay, so Ilya's segment mentions how valuable a dragon's head/body would be, right? Then Shirou later mentions the bodies of Phantasmal Beasts vanish after death. Huh?

I considered it a power-up rather than a complication.
Spoiler: ShowHide

After all, the dwarf conflict has been foreshadowed for quite a few chapters, but she gets a new minion in this chapter.  So all told, it feels like Ami has come out ahead.

DK:A spoilers.

[spoiler]On reflection you're might be right. I'm not sure the moral and infighting tangles will make it worth it, though. Monteraine's gonna be a headache, I can just feel it.

Oh wow, I'd totally forget about those old Dungeon Keeper addventure stories!  Thanks for reminding me!  This forum is awesome. :)
