Kind of a neat setup...long but doesn't really accomplish anything.  It's a Lung/Weaver matchup with time travel sending them, scion, and several of the capes with her back in time, to 1991.  A lot of beowulf references, fighting slaughterhouse 9 over brockton bay, but at the end of it... it seems like they were a really irrelevant story, even as the one being told.

Kinda cute, kinda silly Iron-man post avengers lands in very early Worm.  Gets saved by Taylor and recruits her as an assistant.  Saves Dragon shortly afterwards via Jeeves.

Also read https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/queen-of-the-swarm-worm.323254/ which has a cute concept (Taylor as a Zerg Queen), but really just feels mary-sue'ish.  Everyone is defined by their relation to taylor, taylor's opinions etc.  It's got neat stuff but its a paper mache world.

Read a bit (up to 8) of this.  It's a dragon ball fic where Picollo takes a different training approach that lets him overpower Raditz at their first meeting.  Raditz is saved by Goku after killing Tien and verbally told he's going to die by Vegita, so decides to switch sides (Piccolo style really).  Piccolo for some reason turns good, despite not having any time with Gohan and Tien takes Goku's place with king kai training...

And in general it feels very paper-ish over the situation.  Sort of cut character A out here, put them over there.  It makes a better alignment in a way, but it lacks depth and generally goes about in a simplistic direction.

Yeah, for big DBZ fics, I prefer Bringer of Death. Break Through the Limit always felt off to me somehow, sort of like you said.

As I start to run low on Worm fics having started the same journey Drac's on a few months earlier, I go back to that nice old standby of Familiar of Zero.

Zero Summing is a neat little fic about Louise reverse summoning herself into Skyrim, though after eight chapters she manages to return to Tristain with all the lessons learned of being an Elder Scrolls protagonist. There is a timeskip but the first few chapters give enough for you to see how she could end up on the road to badassery, and the culture shock of her returning home and finding it's not as idealised as her memories is fun.

Consumed.

The culture clash really is the star of it.  It's got a lot of nice scenework leading up to the first Fu, then sort of skips over a lot to get her back into Tristan, but all around, she's barely roared at all :P  DIsappointing!  Anyhow, more precisely, it dodged the station of canon and had her wander off, being quite bethesda heroish, but it seems to have not gotten anywhere yet.  Definitely looking forward to more of it.
