Ozzallos lives.

[spoiler]

Premise isn't bad, though something about it puts me off. I'm not really sure what it is. The first chapter left me ice cold in spite of everything else.

Kinda weird seeing it finally posted.  He had that on some forum...like 2-3 years ago.  Guess he's finally clearing out the old stuff?

Probably. I just wish he'd update Hell is a Martial Artist.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Dracos

Hell or A time apart.

I mean seriously, his drafts for the latter's number 4 are 5 years old.

Meeeh.
Well, Goodbye.

Anastasia

No helping it, but blah. The joys of inspiration.

Thanks for the heads up about Ozzallos!  Would've taken me a few months to notice if it wasn't for your post.

I have to say I've rather enjoyed the Ranma/SAO cross.  Choosing to constantly switch between the events of the game and post awakening is definitly something unusual for an SAO fanfic, and the Ranma half I felt is handled well, but this is Ozzallos afterall.

Might as well post a rec while I'm here:
https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/my-trans-dimensional-overpowered-protagonist-harem-comedy-is-wrong-as-expected-oregairu-danmachi.367903/
A cross between Oregairu and Danmachi.  Not something I expected to enjoy seeing as I had very little experience with Oregairu, but a story I found very enjoyable despite my lack of knowledge of the main character's background.

Premise is that Hikagaya Hachiman, the protagonist of Oregairu is thrown into the world of Danmachi with a few advantages and the knowledge that to get home requires he delve into the Dungeon.  The story begins a few years after his arrival, just as the canon events of Danmachi kick off.

If any of you have knowledge of Oregairu, you'll know that Hachiman is in many ways the opposite of a team player and pretty much the antithesis to a 'happy go lucky' protagonist.  His cynical and snarky inner commentary on the world he finds himself in is hilarious, especially considering how it contrasts with the tone of the original Danmachi.

Best of all, rhe author Sage of Eyes has announced that he's continuing the story after seemingly putting it to rest.

Yes it is on Spacebattles, but all the relevant story posts are threadmarked so you can easily skip the discussion and stuff.

Space battles (and other similar fora) tend to seem to have a discouraging trait toward people having their own hosted site or using an archive, since it gives many of the same benefits once threadmarks are in.

Really only downside is it is annoying to wander threadmarks on phone (FF.net or similar storage is just way less phone bothersome).
Well, Goodbye.

Today I learned you can say fora instead of forums. :)
<Cidward> God willing, we'll all meet in Buttquest 2: The Quest for More Butts.

Point of View is a new Worm Alt-Power/AU fic where Taylor triggers with a combat thinker/minor brute power in a world where Krieg was running a Gesselshaft style operation for kidnapping, triggering and brainwashing people and just so happened to pick up Taylor as his latest project.

Starts at roughly same point in time as canon at which point Taylor stages a jail break, which leads to things getting complicated due to Bakuda and Krieg.

Seems interesting so far, probably leading to a Ward Taylor story.

Did a reread of https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11373478/1/Alea-Iacta-Est which is still sort of cute.  Ack does good stuff, for all he sorta gets lost hopping fic to fic.

Also an update of https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10954841/1/I-Panacea.

I tried a Harry Potter/Disgaea crossover slacker recommended (something wicked this way comes) but it didn't work for me.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/aqir-warcraft-worm.443962/ which is by the excellent Pangolin looks to be interesting and had some update this week.
Well, Goodbye.

Hmm also of note:
https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/nightingale-worm-dnd-bard-taylor.381918/ updated this week.  It's got one of the few Taylor/Victoria match ups, while also winding up Amy to go quite nuts (A lot of things in common with her and Taylor, making it all the more 'if only...')

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/for-those-we-cherish-40k-rwby.408155/ was something done late last year by the guy who did a Demon among devils.  Kinda wish he went back to that, but does have some good space marine scenes.
Well, Goodbye.

Updated with an interlude this week. It's good stuff.

Aqir is pretty great.
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

There used to be many who pondered the shadows of the sun, dreaming of ninja.

New chapters.  Spoiler: Kakashi diiiies.
Well, Goodbye.

Merc

Considering it's Dreaming of Sunshine, I'm sure someone will write a fanfic of that where Kakashi doesn't die then.

That fanfic has way too many fanfics of itself. =p

In my experience, recursive fanfiction is either hilarious or cringe-worthy.
I'm going to need your signature for the metric ton of whoop-ass you're about to receive.

"A 'Cult'? Such disrespect for other people's beliefs."
"You enslave minds!"
"And I believe that's okay."

Usually cringe worthy.  I mean just textual poaching for creative ideas?  Just look at all this worm fics.  Garbage~ :D

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/dire-worm-worm-au-oc.300816/

Finally sat down and read the old Dire Worm series...cuz it was having posts in it, for all that it hasn't seen an update in 12 months.  It is campy.  Cheesy.  It has a villain that never loses.  It doesn't run on Worm rules, because frankly despite all that Dire couldn't exist in worm rules.  I don't mean that from a power standpoint.  I mean, it's one of those stories where the Slaughterhouse nine go through town and only bad guys die.  Not even civilians.  It's got an okayish Pancea handling, but really is best read for the cheese.  Dire is a Villain to the Status Quo, seeking to make the world a Better Place...spooky.

And of course, she has a set of convenient friendbots, that everyone is okay and magically bonds well with one of every named character out there.  Even passive non-judgemental psychologist bot, beta!

I think she's supposed to actually be from her own series that Lost Demurige works on.  Or has a card game?  I'm not really clear on that point.

It may continue someday, but it's reasonably entertaining to read as it does actually kind of currently end on an arc finish, just after the slaughterhouse nine.  It definitely is running by wish-fiction rules, Dire pretty much never suffers meaningful setbacks and concerns others raise about things are always just irrelevant, as the world continues to reward that response.  It's a bit like Memories of Iron that way, but a bit further.

I think the oddest thing about it really is: She's obviously a capable interdimensional traveler who's voiced intent to kill the endbringers and had discussions with Alexandria and yet Scion isn't brought up.

She rescues Dinah and is suggested as a world ender... but also, scene never happens, discussion and interaction with scenario never occurs.

Basically, The Real Big Bad is just not present in the story.  I think he had a brief scene near leviathan right after a particulary Mary Sue moment, but is just not there.
Well, Goodbye.
