"Why do you call it soulriders?"
"Because we grind your souls, hopes, and dreams down ... and ride the wave."

"I dunno.  I've found that it's easy not to be too worried about Yakuza once you kill a few frost giants."

Carthrat

"You know, go to sleep. For my sake."

Nathan rolls his eyes, before returning to his attempt at a doze.

After the bypassing of the faceless conductor who seated the group in the cramped compartment (though, it is luxurious by some standards (evidently, at any rate)), the train ride is mercifully short.  At one point, a woman with a pushcart takes orders for everyone, and serves mostly palatable imitations of what was ordered.

Then, before anyone's really had time to more than doze for a few minutes, the train pulls into its final destination, and stops smoothly.  The door opens, with a -- surprisingly -- fresh blast of air.

Well, fed is good, even . . . train food.

Nathan, not waiting for anyone else, steps out of the train - his eyes roving the station as he looks for the people he's assuming will meet them.

Dracos

Dracos joins Nathan outside, ready for the inevitable cold introduction.

Dracos
Well, Goodbye.

Outside, everyone can see that they are standing on a train platform -- an outdoor one a few miles from Osaka proper.  This place is nice, almost classy.  There's also not too many people standing around, though in front of the station is a stretch limo, with a well-dressed yakuza waiting patiently in front of the driver-side-door.

Carthrat

"Well, here we are," mutters Tom. "I sure hope someone knows where this is heading."

He swaggers up to the yakuza nonetheless, replacing a sour expression with something resembling good cheer, utterly forgetting the country that he's in; "Hiya! Ready to go?"

"Sure I know where this is heading.  It's almost deja-vu."

Nathan doesn't manage to look cheerful, but he at least manages to not look like he's going to kill anyone.

The man standing in front of the over-sized stretch limo that is (apparently) to be your ride simply adjusts his sunglasses and opens a door for whoever is willing to enter.

"I hope they have something to drink," Mark mutters, clambering in after Tetsuo.

Nathan steps into the car, shrugging.  "Well, sometimes I guess hope is all we have, huh?"

Bjorn

"And swords," Bjorn adds, following Nathan.  "And guns.  And mystic powers.  And a generally unhealthy attitude.  Also an oracle, and a rain god.  And these nifty bracelets."

Rezantis

"Also a bow, arrows, fire, mobile phones, rapier wit and a debt of cookies?"
Hangin' out backstage, waiting for the show.

Bjorn

"Starting to reach at the end, there.  Unless whinging about cookies is supposed to be 'rapier wit?'"

Rezantis

"No, just reminding you that you haven't paid up."
