Review by Dexie:

Once again, Miyamoto and Nintendo have completely blown me away. @_@

Nintendogs is both an incredibly cute game and a really fun one.

First things first, though. Don't diss this game until you've played it. And I don't mean the crappy in-store demos. Those things aren't even close to the actual game.

And also, this is NOT just another pet simulator. This game has soooo much more to offer than those crappy Giga Pets/Nano Pets/Tamagotchi. The touch screen and microphone just open up so many more possibilities..

Upon starting up Nintendogs, you get to visit the kennel and buy one of 6 puppy types, depending on the version you got. Then comes fun time.

First thing you have to do is name your puppy, which consists of calling it's name into the mic several times til it learns it. As long as you call it clearly each time, this won't take too long.

Then you go through a short demo on how to teach it tricks, where you must teach it how to 'sit'. You teach tricks by rubbing the dog in certain ways, then calling a command into the mic. Repeat til it's learned, and from that point on, puppy will perform it simply by hearing you call the command.

Afterwords, the game sets you out on your own. You can do anything from this point on...

Teach more tricks, play with one of the many, many toys the game has. Dress your dog up with various accessories (my beagle looks so cute with that red ribbon.), take it for walks, enter it in one of various competitions...

Bark Mode lets you take your puppy to a park, which is multiplayer and uses the DS's wireless feature. Haven't tried this yet, sadly.

Put simply, this game shows off what the DS is capable of more than any game released yet for it...I'm a catlover, not a dogfan, and I'm having so much fun with this it isn't funny.

Now, if you're excuse me, Marcus, my beagle, needs to be fed.
Well, Goodbye.
