As much as I hate to bump an old thread...

I saw Vol. 1 of this in Best Buy the other day for $20 with a neato little collector's box. I wanted the board's opinion of this, though; is this series worth the money, or should I just spend it on something else? Keep in mind I'm probably not gonna be able to download any fansubs as it's liscenced and my connection is slow, so "free" is not really an option. Thanks in advance.

Hmm... Twenty bucks eh? That's a pretty good price. Personally though I would see if you can get the regular release since there's a good chance it will be less expensive. I don't think it's worth getting "Volume 1 + Box" of series unless you know for a fact that you have every intention of collecting the whole series with one exception though.

Said "exception" being if it turns out that the "Volume 1 + Box" is cheaper than the regular release. It's rare but I have seen it happen. In that case you may as well grab the "Volume 1 + Box" version. Besides if you don't like the series you can always toss it in the trash or something.

Oh and for the record Static-Subs still has their TV-rip subs available. In your case though it probably would be easier to just buy the dvd. As for the series itself I do like it and recommend it. It isn't perfect though but I don't feel like going into detail to be honest.

Anyways the choice is yours.
