Insurance is generally being helpful on the repairs.  Should hopefully get a few hundred back.

Today is already going worlds better than I could have hoped.

Apparently I wasn't sick enough to get sent home yesterday, but today I was after the meeting with the client. After the meeting, it was all "Go work from home over the weekend, rest up and stuff. And take your germs with you."

Ah well, early day off...I'll take it.

We have a cultural issue with working when we're sick.

Which makes more people sick because we're bringing our illness to work.

It's a real problem.

The US has an issue with that and vacation time. I hate to admit it, but Europe deals with all of that in a much more healthy way.

Why is it bad to admit that other countries can be more progressive in some way?

I must admit the european vacation schedule is just on this end of awesome.
