[23:31] <@Dungeon_Kotono> Rain. Gray, pelting, drizzling rain. It is the defining characteristic this day. So the heroes approach the entrance to the tomb system - one of many stone masoleums, the entrace shut gently against the rest of the world. Permission has been given, this small and squat stone edifice decorated with little stone statues in niches. There is surely much more below ground level than meets the eye, however.
[23:32] <@Saul> "There is surely much more below ground level than meets the eye," says Saul, out loud, surveying the tomb he is soon to enter.
[23:33] * @Darius peers out from under the hood of his cloak, rain dripping onto his beard.
[23:33] <@Darius> "Wonder if we'll get lucky and find one of those things that was in the graveyard.."
[23:33] <@Dungeon_Kotono> A gust of wind flares as the party surveys the tomb - by fiat of the gods, the rain finds an annoyingly good way to splash right in Saul's face as he looks on.
[23:34] * @Saul wipes off the water from his eyes, giving the heavens a baleful stare.
[23:35] * @Seryf snorts softly, puling her cloak tighter around herself. "It could be worse, I guess."
[23:36] <@Dungeon_Kotono> Serith drip-drips water as she waits with her master, expression distinctly unamused.
[23:36] <@Darius> "Could be acid rain."
[23:37] <@Saul> "I'm going to start casting protections on us, now," says Saul, somehow glad that he's left Del far away from this rain, back in the care of that mysterious innkeeper. "Darius?"
[23:37] <@Darius> "Eh?"
[23:37] <@Saul> "Don't say that. It might just come true."
[23:37] <@Seryf> "Could be just two people charging into a Masoleum full of undead," Seryf adds.
[23:37] * @Darius shrugs.
[23:38] <@Saul> "Yeah. I remember that story, one came back a charred and diseased wreck," pipes in Saul. "Now let us never speak of it again."

[23:41] <@Dungeon_Kotono> So Saul resolves! AS the rain continues to find a way to chillingly soak him, the party awaits their entrance into the crypt.
[23:41] <@Dungeon_Kotono> OOC - We're still waiting a couple more to see if Gavin lives. If you want to cast anything or prepare, do so now.
[23:41] <@Saul> "Alright, give me a moment," says the cleric, fingers snapping off the well-spoken lines to protection from evil. "Er, I only prepared 4 due to an oversight, so someone (who isn't me) will have to miss out. ANy volunteers?"
[23:42] * @Darius shrugs.
[23:42] <@Darius> "Ya can skip me, if'n ya want."
[23:43] <@Saul> "Ok. Try to stay away from things that might kill you," advises the cleric, promplty giving everyone but Darius the benefit of Waukeen's grace.

[23:47] <@Saul> "Alright. Let's go inside!" pronounces Saul. "Um, you guys go first."
[23:48] * @Darius shrugs and heads in, unsheathing his swords, eager to test his new blade.
[23:49] <@Dungeon_Kotono> The opening of the masoleum brings not a rush of fresh air inside, but musty claws of foul, stagnant vapors. The faint sunshine that makes it inside does little to cut the pervading gloom. The scent of mold, water and rotting cloth clogs your nostrils, making ever breath inside an unpleasant ordeal. (More)
[23:49] <@Dungeon_Kotono> The first room is a simple entryway. The brown stone earthenwork floors have small patches of black mold. Unlit torches hang in regular sconces, and beyond this, there are only a few other things of note. There is a large double door to the north and smaller doors on the east and west walls. In the center of the room is an old statue of Orial - a peaceful one, gaze firmly ahead

[23:50] <@Dungeon_Kotono> You note that you can see in this room with the sunlight that does trickle ni, but other light sources rapidly appear to be a good idea.
[23:50] <@Elaine> "Anybody have any torches?" Elaine asks
[23:50] * @Saul pauses a moment, casting another spell. He holds his hands close and apart from his eyes, and a brief flash of magic awakens him to the dual sights of both magic, and the traps people set.
[23:51] <@Saul> "I didn't need one," mumbles Saul.
[23:52] <@Darius> "I've got a lantern."
[23:52] <@Seryf> "I've never needed one either..." Seryf admits, blushing slightly at the oversight. "And my hands are kind of full," she shrugs, Sun and Moon drawn and ready.
[23:52] * @Elaine gives Gavin one of her candles after lighting it, figuring Gavin will need it more than them and since he hasn't spoken up at the torch question.
[23:52] <@Dungeon_Kotono> Gavin takes point, shield and sword at the ready. He looks about briefly, keeping his own council for now.
[23:53] <@Dungeon_Kotono> The candle is taken, a small, flickering light ahead into the darkness.
[23:54] * @Darius rummages through his pack and pulls out a hooded lantern, offering it for use.
[23:55] <@Saul> "Alright. Let's start by going east," says Saul, once lighting arrangements are worked out.
[23:56] * @Saul checks the statue of Orial as he walks by it, too, seeing if there's any writing or the like.
[23:56] <@Dungeon_Kotono> Nothing of note. It's a nice statue, but lacking in anything substantial.
[23:57] <@Dungeon_Kotono> Gavin goes to Darius and takes the latern, using it to shed the way better than a candle for now.
[23:57] * @Saul shrugs, and goes back to heading towards the eastern door. May as well check out the smaller tombs first.
[23:57] <@Dungeon_Kotono> The door creaks open!
[23:57] <@Dungeon_Kotono> This appears to be a small tool storage room. Shovels, pickaxes, a few barrels and an open, empty casket all rest in here. From one of the barrels a few torch butts can be seen poking out. Beyond that, there is little of obvious use in this room.
[23:58] * @Elaine listens for any noise that might help point out the right way for their inteprid band of adventurers to take.

[00:01] <@Dungeon_Kotono> This room is much the same as the other. Both appear to be miscellanous storage rooms.

[00:02] * @Saul gives the room a brief check before heading to the double doors. "Yeah, it's just a storage room. I was hoping we might find a map or something."
[00:02] * @Darius wanders back over to the group, blades still in his hands, the tips hovering near the ground, but not scraping against it.
[00:03] * @Seryf frowns darkly. "I just heard something..." she tells the others, looking around. "A rather unfriendly chuckle..."
[00:03] * @Darius smiles brightly.
[00:03] <@Darius> "Really? Well then, let's keep going!"
[00:04] * @Saul looks around, peering about. "I agree! No laugh has ever stopped us before!"
[00:04] <@Dungeon_Kotono> Saul and the others see nothing unusual here - at least for now

[00:05] <@Saul> "Well, shall we do the honours, Darius?" asks Saul, moving to one side of the double doors, ready to pull it open!
[00:05] <@Elaine> "Where was the laugh coming from roughly?" Elaine asks.
[00:05] * @Darius looks at his hands, grumbles, and sheathes his unmagical sword, then readies to open the other door.
[00:05] <@Seryf> "Couldn't tell," Seryf shakes her head, glancing around warily.
[00:06] <@Dungeon_Kotono> Seryf sees nothing unusual.
[00:06] <@Elaine> "Hrm..." Elaine mutters as she keeps a cautious eye and ear out for trouble, especially any that might try to come from the back once they're deep enough. You never know when someone might try to sneak up on you from a secret door or some such.
[00:07] <@Dungeon_Kotono> This curved hall is dim and dusty. It goes to the right like a curving V, perhaps thirty paces from the start to the end. There seems to be nothing of note here, only a connecting passage. The ground slopes downward, heading deeper into the all consuming earth. Gavin's lantern lights the way, at least.

[00:10] <@Dungeon_Kotono> As the heroes head down this hall, they see the door to the next area. Nothing too special about it, a few unused torches about should they want more light.
[00:10] * @Saul continues walking foward, peering across the shoulders of his companions down the cavern. To be honest, he's not sure he likes the lantern too much.. it throws off his infravision, but he'll make do.
[00:11] * @Darius follows along, staying near the walls, hoping to minimize his exposure to traps..
[00:12] * @Seryf brings up the rear, looking behind herself constantly to make sure nothing sneaks up on them.
[00:12] * @Darius winces in pain for a moment.
[00:12] <@Dungeon_Kotono> There isn't - at least not for now. The rear is clear.
[00:13] <@Darius> "That was.. weird. Somethin's 'round 'ere.. My body just got shot with pain.."
[00:14] * @Saul frowns. "I can't see any traps or magic," he murmurs. "Even if it was invisible..."
[00:14] * @Elaine pulls out Silmara and Frosthammer, and nods to Darius, getting a bit more ready for whatever pops up that might be the cause of Darius' pain.
[00:14] * @Darius shifts uncomfortably..
[00:14] <@Dungeon_Kotono> Gavin frowns himself, on guard for now, leading the way with Darius' lantern.
[00:15] <@Darius> "Er.. What if it weren't a trap? Spirits hurt just from touch, don't they?"
[00:16] <@Saul> "In theory, they're supposed to manifest," says Saul, quietly. "I'm sure I'd detect them as magic, though."
[00:16] * @Darius shifts his shoulders again..
[00:17] <@Darius> "Whatever.. Let's keep goin'."
[00:17] <@Saul> "Alright," replies Saul. "Lead on, Gavin."
[00:17] <@Dungeon_Kotono> On Gavin leads! Into the next room, door opened cautiously!
[00:17] <@Dungeon_Kotono> This circular room is vast! Around the ringed circle are indents in the wall, each holding plain wood coffins. There are no signs of obvious disturbance here, beyond the very last one, dead ahead of you and opposite the door. This one has fallen over and out, empty. No sign of a body at all, a rotten headpillow the only thing remaining.In the center of the room are circular stairs going down, extra dark. Your lantern light seems ineffe

[00:27] <@Seryf> "There's that laughing again..." Seryf murmurs, glowering and keeping her eyes and ears open around herself.
[00:29] <@Saul> "I can't hear it," says Saul, glancing at Seryf. "It's easy enough to prepare a light spell- let's come back tomorrow after I've done that."
[00:29] * @Seryf shrugs a little. "A vampire or something is talking to me in my head?" Seryf suggests.
[00:29] <@Saul> "We'll bring some stakes as well."
[00:30] <@Dungeon_Kotono> As the heroes talk? CRASH! The sound of wood breaking behind you, violent impact!
[00:30] * @Elaine sighs. "Well, that's a bit boring, but I suppose it's probably best to take off for now."
[00:30] <@Saul> "I think the doors just closed on us," mutters Saul.
[00:30] * @Elaine whips around as she finishes speaking to see the source of the disturbance.
[00:31] * @Darius chuckles.
[00:31] <@Darius> "Brings back memories!"
[00:31] <@Elaine> "Well, that decides things for us then, doesn't it?" Elaine replies, not particularly dissapointed. "Someone wants us to kick their ass now rather than today, it seems!"
[00:31] <@Dungeon_Kotono> A coffine in an indent near the door has been violently knocked out of it's crevice! Amid the shattered wood you can see a skeletal hand, stirring, moving, reaching out.
[00:31] <@Saul> "There's that necromancy I detected!" pronounces Saul.
[00:32] * @Darius grins widely as he starts over to the rising skeleton, fully intent on violence.
[00:32] <@Saul> "Quick. Let's form up the way we came, so only a few can get us at a... time..."
[00:32] <@Saul> "...or we could do that."
[00:33] <@Dungeon_Kotono> OOC - It's not moving that fast. What'cha doin', Darius?
[00:33] <@Seryf> "Oh great," Seryf provides dryly, sighing as she moves in closer as well, Sun and Moon at the ready. "Just start retreating, Gavin, Darius and I will cover you."
[00:33] <@Elaine> "Hey, what about me!" Elaine says with a small pout while spinning her weapons around her fingers.
[00:34] <@Saul> "If you're dealing with undead, you'll need me," replies Saul, snorting. "Besides, if we can deal with the undead here, that's less for later."

[00:34] * @Darius smirks over his shoulder, continuing on his way happily.
