We're going to streamline character creation since we'll be doing this a lot. So without further ado, let's get this started.

Stat points: Will be done from a point pool system. No rolling needed, so you can design your avatar however you like from the points you have available. This value will rise as you earn more points in the dungeon. The maximum for any stat is 18, and this may rise as you progress into the dungeon. The exact starting pool is to be annouced.

Races: At the start of the game you'll only have access to what's in the 2nd edition PHB - human, half elf, elf, dwarf, halfling, gnome. You'll unlock other racial classes from around the planes as you progress. Feel free to suggest and send me any races you'd be interested in getting to play.

Classes: PHB standard at start, which is fighter, ranger, paladin, mage, specialist mage, generic cleric, druid, thief, bard. More will be unlocked as you go, as well as various kits. Feel free to send me or suggests others as well.

Starting level: You'll be assigned an XP point value. Classes with lower XP thresholds will obviously be at a higher level.

Dual classing: Is allowed. You must divide your starting XP up for this and also bear in mind it's by levels.

Multi classing: Is not allowed yet. This will be unlocked later. Honestly, a slightly higher XP base to make it a worthwhile choice without being broken or useless is needed first.

Weapon profs and above: As normal, capped at specialisation for now. Blah blah blah, will be unlocked higher later. This is fine, moreso since the masteries usually have level requirements anyhow.

NWPs: This is up to you guys. You can take these or not. They aren't essential but could be very useful at times. As I don't want a heavy emphasis on NWPs nor does it fit this game, intelligence does not yield more NWPs/WPs.

Hit points/hit dice: Your first level HD is always max. Past that roll - just roll them in batches if you like, since I'm not giving any rerolls. This may change later.

Weapons: Right now you can choose one non magical weapons to have on character.  This will increase later. Anything in the PHB is fair game, but nothing outside of it yet. If you have a pet weapon to be unlocked later, lemme know.

Armor: You get one non magical suit at the current time. The currently allowed armors are: Leather Armor, Padded Armor, Studded Leather, Ring Mail, Shields. More will be unlocked as time progresses.

Equipment: Currently you get 5 GP to buy optional equipment. If you buy anything you'll get a free backpack to store it in. PHB items only, feel free to bug me if you have something from another source you'd like added later.

Magic: Clerics have access to all their spells as per normal.  Mages can compile their spellbook - one spell per character level of each level they can cast. A first level mage has one 1st level spell they can cast, a 2nd level mage has two 1st level spells in the spell book, a level three mage had 3 first level spells and 1 second level spell, and so on. You may choose any spells in the PHB. More options will be unlocked later.

Note: Teleportation spells will generally fail in any means when used by PCs, so bear this in mind.

Custom game rules will be in another post. Nothing too heavy, mostly just odds and ends that need to be stated.

1) I suggest that we use XP to measure progression rather than levels because it varies between classes.

2) Do you get extra weapon profs according to int?

3) How many spells do bards get? >_>
[19:14] <Annerose> Aww, mouth not outpacing brain after all?

1. That's a great idea. We'll do that.

2. Mmm. No. It shouldn't matter that much in this campaign anyhow.

3. The same as wizards. However, as they start getting spell charges at later levels this will dilute the pool selection of spells they have somewhat.

To be determined. This'll be posted in a day or two, I want to do the design of the first several rooms before assigning a value.

Starting EXP is 4500. Starting stat pool is 68.

Hopefully you'll manage to improve both of those soon.
