Satoshi Kon proves he doesn't just do mind*uck films as he does this enchanting tale of three homeless people who stumble on an abandoned baby around Christmas and their odyssey in trying to return her to her mother. On the way they encounter a variety of people and fall into a number of bizarre situations, unbelievable, but done with such style it really doesn't matter. Along the way we learn the various backgrounds to the entertaining trio, as they too grow along their journey.

Animation is as good as it gets, and the music is so-so. Not bad, but nothing memorable either. This is a great film though. The only tiny drawback is that it's rewatchability factor might not be the greatest, since not knowing what's going to happen to them next is part of the charm.

8 out of 10. Definitely one worth watching.
