To begin, the below will not cover cults, demigods, minor gods, or anything that might be believed outside Alruneza.  Indeed, what is covered here may or may not be true of the world.  What does matter about it is it is what Alrunezians believe and, to all effect, is what their clerics find to be true.

The world of Cortraz was created roughly two thousand years ago at the hands of Morudin, the forger, bringer of life and creator of things.  Upon this rock mass, Morudin forged the rivers and the forests and the mountains.  He gave life to the people, to the humans of the plains and the hills, the dwarves of the mountains, the elves of the forests.  To him, the act of creation was paramount and this his great work.

But it is known that he was not alone in this venture.  For another brought the scripture that was the foundation for the arts that men practice.  The power of wizardry, the training of mind and body in war, the potential of learning.  Thoth, the sage, great bird of light.  Thoth sat unjudging, viewing man as he passed through life, aiding those of good and evil based more on strength of purpose and devotion than motivation.  Into his great book, he scribed mankind as it passed, recording their lives.

But to all such things, an end does come.  And at the end, he waits, King of the Dead, Hades.  All rivers flow to Hades realm, some say, and the river of time is no different.  Good or bad, all eventually come to his domain and are judged, placed where they should be within his kingdom of death.  He is the end of all things.  Burning with fiery hair, he notably is legendary for his cool haircuts... or so the legends say.  One would think that the inevitability of all coming within his grasp would be enough for Hades, but he has shown his willingness to lend his divine favor to individuals willing and able to hurry the process along.
Well, Goodbye.
