Unknowing Puppet

I stare at the strings attached to my hands
watching as they do their dance
wondering who is controlling them
and if I'll get them back

Now I look behind me
and I see some strings there too
making me jump and wander
where there is work to do

I begin to fear and wonder
if there are strings attached as well
to my very thoughts that write this
but that's assuming I could tell...

P.S.:  Yes, I actually wrote this a long time ago (been posted on the various reincarnations of my website over 2 years now), however, I still come back and think about it occasionally...

Interesting cant on it.  It took me a couple of reads to recogize the rhytmic pattern you used when writing it.  Also an interesting thought invoking poem on it's own subject ^_^.
