Fanfiction rants and grips

I'd go into a nice, literate and fun to read lead in to this topic, but fuck that shit. I'm feeling quite lazy today, thank you very much Mr. Ferguson. The short version is that this is a rant topic about fanfiction things.  

I'll start with one that I've mentioned before.  That's right, it's time to listen to another of Dune's Kachiko rants. If you are blessed and not familiar with Kachiko, go read DB Sommer's 'The Things We Wish For'. It's on fanfiction net and his lost library section.

Anyhow, from here on out I'll assume that you are aquantied with the matter at hand. Oh, and I'm sure you saw the shiny spoiler warning above, right?  RIGHT?

Kachiko started as a twist on the kindly stereotyped Tendo mother. While she may very well have been that after having the Tendo Bunch(tm), the Kachiko of this story is a wild and crazzzzy teenager. The idea is both original and interesting, so it's a surefire formula for a good fic.

Theory, meet cold reality. Instead of mixing things up, she rapidly became the worst ANC I've :-EVER-: seen.  The bitch turned a fic I was hyped about to one of biggest fanfiction letdowns in my history of reading fics.

Have you ever seen a new character that dominates the scene while you roll your eyes, deciding to go play some Parcheesi instead? Take that and we are on the right track. She became a whirlwind that overwrote Ranma and the Tendos without even seeming to try hard. We are supposed to believe this time transplanted girl is the next coming of the perfect character and like it?

It was the...third chapter, I think, that really sent things downhill. In this chapter, she got the better of Nabiki twice, beat Ranma in a fight with a trick I couldn't really believe worked, played Soun(Not a hard task, but still) and ran over the rest of the cast in likewise manners. Now, perhaps one or two of these used better would have been fine.  But using them in the way they were used...Sorry, you just sucked the fic up. Hell, I even liked how she played Nabiki by itself, but with the other parts...

This was bad...And the way the author replied just irked me. I got the impression from his response and added author's note that he just outright disagreed with me and others.  That's fine and well, but the way he did it...I couldn't shake the feeling he was laughing as he read the posts and didn't even take our comments seriously.  Perhaps this is unfair to the fic and DB, but that was the final blow.  It showed to me that this would not likely get better, and the chapter after that cemented it.
