Rachel stands up. "This way please, Mr. Tanewaki."

She leads you through a hallwall and dining room into the kitchen. A nice and large one, too, done in wood. She quickly fixes you a sandwich and drink...

"Mr. Tanewaki..." she begins as she serves you your meal. "I don't understand. Has it taken you this long to realise the path you had chosen was rotten?" she asks it with a childlike curiousity, no malice or negative connotation in her tone.

"I was searching for someone to help me, really," he replies softly. "I don't have any friends left in this world, I don't know who to turn to.. It's just the roll of the dice and see if I find anyone.

I knew this place was magical when I saw it.. I just knew somehow, I should get inside.. I just didn't know how."

He sighs to himself, looking morosely at the floor.

"There were no emissions. It's all a ploy, a ruse to get noticed by somene who can help me. 'cos ever since I was a child, the way to do things was, in some fashion, to make it look like you weren't wanting to get noticed while trying to get noticed.

I remember, sometimes, thinking how some of the 'rules' I had to play by were so *stupid*.."

She stands up, taking up your now empty plate. "Let me show you to your room. I believe Diane is ready."
