Lets kick off the original folder of our forum's artwork section with comics.

For years many of us have read these animated novels, cheering on our favorite heroes and heroines whenever they did something incredibly neat...or groaned in dismay as we finally come face to face with a horrible cliffhanger at the end of our favorite comic/manga.

It only makes sense that this would eventually carry over into the internet, no?

We read them, we're in awe of them, everyone give a warm greeting to the artists who slave away to provide us with great visual tales.

http://www.rpgworldcomic.com/ : Excellent parody of all that is RPG, full of yummy original content too! It runs a bit slow during the first few comics, and the artwork starts off a bit weak, but the author-artist's style begins improving in leaps and bounds soon enough. Highly recommended.

It may also help that you have a cute elf chick in it. XD

Just to show that I'm a Caring Mod, (and to earn some PR points) I'm throwing up the link to the one, the magnificient, the parodiousness...(at least I think that word exists)

Nuklear Power! Home of 8-bit comics! ^^

http://www.nuklearpower.com

Using the original sprites and many of the environments in the original FF, this webcomic takes us on a roller coaster ride of weirdness and humor, leading us through a *very* offbeat version of Final Fantasy.

Well...what can I say...it's like they got the original Final Fantasy and turned it on its head...and to the side...and at angles that our puny little mortal minds can't comprehend. XD

Give it a spin, you may just grow to love this comic. Just keep an eye out for mallet wielding White Mages...and the occasional Hadouken slinging Black Mage.

Well, I just threw this link as a reccomendation for the new links page, it's only fitting that I include it here as well: http://www.reallifecomics.com/

Real Life is an online comic about the real life of Greg and his friends... or so he would like for you to think! You quickly figure out that there's no way the name fits when you have stuff like time travel, clones, a guy who goes on dates with Belldandy, sentient computers, etc. ^_^

Its cast is likeable, the comic updates regularly (every weekday), it's humorous, and most importantly, it makes references to anything and everything.

Admittedly, video games, rpgs and computer stuff are the things that most get referenced to, but... hey wait! That's a GOOD thing! ^_~
<Cidward> God willing, we'll all meet in Buttquest 2: The Quest for More Butts.

Hmm... might as well go and match Olg two for two ^_~

Errant Story, @ http://www.errantstory.com/

by Michael Poe.

Many of you guys probably remember Poe from "Exploitation Now", and though that saga is ended, it's obvious the artist is far from done. Unlike EN, Errant Story follows more the theme of EN in it's ending days, beautiful storytelling with balanced fast paced action and drops of comedy here and there. An excellent fantasy style story well worth looking over at least.

I don't know how many of you guys know about it, seeing as how Poe posted the link to this new comic in EN's site about 3 months after the series ended, but hey, if you haven't, now's the time to catch up ^_^

El Goonish Shive

by Dan Shive

http://www.elgoonishshive.com/index.php

A tale of martial arts, magic, friendship, and a squirrel girl.

This is probably my favorite webcomic currently.  The artwork is good, the story funny, and the updates come five days a week.

Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki

By KittyHawk

Take a gender bender anime styled story and filter it through the Norse mythos. Get yourself this funny webcomic.

Well, Goodbye.

Dracos

Because I'm a nice person to them:

They aren't that good.  They aren't quick.  They can be funny but most of it's lost in the months between postings.  But they try.  So give 'em a glance.

With all these members to the forum, I'd had thought that there would be more links than these.  No one has even mentioned MegaTokyo, Penny Arcade, Sinfest, and other really popular ones, though I did notice the links to Nuklear Power and RPG World.

I myself have lots of web comics in my Favorites list.  Some that I would like to share include a couple revolving around anime clubs, Dub This <http://www.dubthis.net/> and FOG Club <http://fogclub.keenspace.com/>.  Read them if just for the Utena-themed story arc in Dub This <http://www.dubthis.net/cgi-bin/dtarchive.cgi?date=dt20010426.jpg> and the Power Ranger movies (one in the past <http://fogclub.keenspace.com/d/20010519.html> and one right now) in FOG Club.  FOG Club also has some story arcs involving a glance at the world of Trigun.  Heh.

Valkyrie Yuukie already got linked, so I'll skip that.  That means I'll go with some gaming-themed ones.  The ones you find in gaming comics.  Online versions of Nodwick <http://www.gamespy.com/comics/nodwick/index.htm> and Knights of the Dinner Table <http://www.kenzerco.com/periodicals/kodt/kodtonline_current.php>.  Oh, yeah!  If sprite-based comics like 8-bit Theater are more your style, how about some Megaman?  Bob and George <http://www.bobandgeorge.com/> is always good for a trip down to the flip-side.

Hmmm...  for some college life weirdness, try College Roommates from Hell!!! <http://www.crfh.net/>.  Character designs are definitely not manga-inspired, but the storylines are quite entertaining.  But if you really want one that is, why not try Tsunami Channel <http://tsunamichan.keenspace.com/index.html>?  The artist is still learning his craft and his English could be better, but I find his explorations of character archetypes in anime / manga /bishoujo games amusing.  The fan-submitted comic strips that get posted on the site get quite silly, too.  Also, there's more than one comic strip at the site, so don't get surprised that the storyline alternates as you peruse the archive.

I have others, but I think that's enough for now.  Besides, if I get include some of the more adult-oriented ones, this post might have an accident with a delete function.  ^_^  ( Just kidding around with ya, Rez.  ^_~ )
TEP 4:  WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT.
"[C]leverly say a few words of encouragement to Sailor Moon and the other senshi. [...] They will be so dazzled by these speeches of yours, they won't even notice that you disappeared...AGAIN"

HEY.

Technically that last post of yours didn't actually get -deleted-, it's still floating around in the database.

It's just . . . not attached to a topic.

>_>

<_<

Makes it hard to find.  >_>

Anyway, since I may as well contribute while I'm here, Demonology 101 is kinda cool.  http://faith.rydia.net/

Updates are uncommon, but what's there is damn funny.

Oh, and, ah, don't restrain yourself from posting links on my account, Lufio.  Really.  :)

Once upon a time we used to have more webcomic links, Lufio. *sniffs* Then the forum went skyhigh and we lost a lot of our better stuff.

Once upon a time... *wails*

*pats pats Olguin* There, there, we just have to post more and more! ^_^

Seeing as we're kinda missing a links page right now, Sluggy Freelance is one that deserves a mention, even though most here have already been there before. ^_^

One that I'd mentioned prior to the *BOOM*, Schlock Mercenary is always a barrel of laughs, full of mercenaries in space, fully loaded with ammunition. ^_^

For the geek, I could mention User Friendly, but General Protection Failure is so much more fun...Actually, why not have both?

On the side of sprite comics, there's Kid Radd, an original sprite comic, and I do mean original. All these sprites were made by the author himself, no basis from any real game ^_^

There should also be something for the darkness within, after all, what good is it to always laugh if there's nothing to remind us about some of the messes in the world? Jack is an excellent view of the madness of the world, from the best point of view. That of death himself, the sin of wrath known as Jack. It does involve furry characters, but the story telling is good, and the art rather fitting. And while you might get a laugh here and there, this one ain't a comedy. Chopping Block on the other hand -is- a dark comedy, the tale of demented serial killer Butch as he proceeds to increase his body count, one strip at a time.

To end it all, lets give a hand for the hentai within, and then keep that hand busy. Some ecchi strips worth reading would be T.A. Vision and Sexy Losers.

There's a number of online comics, starting to feel better now, Olg? =)
