The Slayers Quest

[Carthrat]

"Well, yes. I mean, an adventurer such as yourself would be going to all sorts of places, wouldn't she?" replies Kylen, speaking very hurriedly in some kind of appeasing tone. "Wouldn't that, er, make it difficult for her to do her, um, royal duties?"

[Corwin]

"Umm." Lina scratches her temple, moving her bandanna slightly. "You've met Phil, right?"

[Carthrat]

"Well, I've seen him once or twice giving a public address," replies Kylen, shrugging. "He's very.. passionate about his kingdoms safety," he continues. "Though I always thought he'd have a blind spot when it came to his daughter."

[Corwin]

"Ah, then you wouldn't know he's a muscle-bound freak of nature with the strength of a troll and a stupid devotion to dishing out 'Justice' everywhere, even if it means sending his annoying daughter to tag along." Pausing, Lina adds nonchalantly, "I mean that in the nicest possible way, of course."

[Carthrat]

"Well, I do remember he was a large man," replies Kylen, shrugging. "Though I am impressed he takes a more hands-on approach instead of working through a proxy."

[Ebiris]

"I think Amelia is probably a lot safer with us," Gourry says as he joins the conversation. "It seems nearly every member of her family wants to kill Phil to take the throne..." For a brief moment, there is an intense look on Gourry's face as he speaks.

The moment soon passes, and his usually dopey expression resurfaces.

[Corwin]

Lina sighs. "He does. Oh, he does." She glanced at Gourry, her mouth opening in surprise, before she shrugs. "That works, too, I guess."

[Ranma_007]

"Excuse me for a moment." Zelgadis steps outside with the magic marker. Shortly thereafter, the sound "FLARE ARROW" can be heard throughout the area. Wiping his face off with a marker, Zelgadis returns inside of what's left of the tavern, still muttering about "Jellyfish", "Bunnies",  and "Why me..."

[Carthrat]

"Ara- is that so?" replies Kyren, turning to Gourry. "Tell me everything," he says, intently.

[Ebiris]

"Hm?" Gourry blinks at suddenly being the focus of events. "Well, when we first met Amelia, her uncle Randy was trying to kill Phil... and then a few weeks ago there was that big fuss in Saillune when Phil faked his death because there was an assasin, which turned out to be... uh..." he trails off, scratching his chin. "Hey, Lina, what happened in last time we were in Saillune? I forgot..." he trails off lamely.

[Corwin]

"Hang on, Gourry," Lina says, holding her hand in front of the blond swordsman. "Just why is it that you're so interested in Saillune's royal family, Mr. Sara?" she asks, peering at Kylen.

[Carthrat]

"Hmm? Oh, I'm a distant relative," replies Kylen, shrugging. "I like to keep abreast on current affairs, in case I'm needed for some reason."

[Corwin]

"Strange," Lina comments idly, while eyeing Kylen distrustfully. "Phil never meintioned any undead relatives."

[Carthrat]

"Phil didn't tell you about what happened to his brothers son, then," replies Kylen, flippantly.

Ohshitohshitohshitohshitohshit thinks Kylen to himself.

Zelgadis stares suspiciously. "A very distant relative, wouldn't you say..."
