Senshi Training, Take #1!

"Whatever. We'll sit around and wait, then... or someone could take this shuttle into the air and we'll hover until the engineers get here and I'm not quite so bruised."

[Halbarad]

Ami gives the shuttle controls a cursory look, then turns back to Rei. "I can do either one, sempai, but it's up to you. We can either go check out this machine or we can take the shuttle airborne until reinforcements arrive - unless you have something else in mind."

[Ebiris]

"I don't know," Rei shrugs helplessly. "I don't have the authority to give anyone here orders, and this is basically a volunteer mission.

"Still, I'd much rather wait for backup myself, so if you need my permission to fly the shuttle, by all means you have it."

[Halbarad]

Ami nods, seating herself at the shuttle's controls. "Then if there are no objections, I'll take us up now."

The young senshi takes a few moments to familiarize herself with the shuttle's systems, then with a few deft strokes on the board in front of her, the shuttle's engines engage. Within a minute, the shuttle is rising through the air slowly, the buildings of the residential sector below shrinking as it gains altitude.

Ami takes a glance back at the shuttle's other occupants. "What do you think? Keep it to atmospheric flight, or do you want to head into orbit?"

[kpjam]

"Orbit," Minako replies.

[Halbarad]

"Orbit it is." Ami nods, entering a few more commands into the pilot's console. The Lunar surface drops away rapidly as the shuttle picks up speed.

[Corwin]

The four meet the shuttle with the engineers and their escort a few minutes after achieving Lunar orbit. The other shuttle hails them, asking for Lt. Colonel Kuradoberi.

[Carthrat]

"Jam, here," says Jam, after getting her hands on a commlink.

[Corwin]

"We're here, Ma'am," a voice she recognizes as belonging to the Earth flagship's main engineer says over the com. "Orders?"

[Carthrat]

"Follow us," replies Jam. "You'll be required to inspect a potentially dangerous device of unknown origin."

[Corwin]

"Understood," the engineer replies, and the shuttle carrying it alters course to follow Jam's.

[Halbarad]

Ami, having overheard the conversation, alters the shuttle's course wordlessly and begins to lead the other shuttle back to their original landing position.

[Corwin]

Without much ado, the two shuttles land at Ami's destination. The engineer and what seem to be his two aids exits the second shuttle, a pair of armed guards with them, and quietly awaits Jam's orders.

[Carthrat]

Jam manages to make her way off the bed. "Ok. All of you can come with us, to ensure that any hostiles met can be dealt with in a timely fashion. I'll lead the way to the.. device. Ok?"

[Ebiris]

Rei has no problem with someone else taking point, and moves to cover their right flank as they make their way to the 'device'.
