The Earth Delegation

Did she even hear what I said? What a ditz.

"Uh, right, Princess. Anyway, be advised, Prince Endymions ship is approaching and is now maintaing a course in sector 334262," she replies. "I'm sure the delegation will be a great success."

Yes.. a success... Little lights dance in Jam's head, including a newspaper headline;

"Youngest General Ever, and also a woman!"

[kpjam]

"Oh?  That's the prince," she says softly.   "I wanted to blow something up," the thouights come unbidden to her mind.

"Is there anything else we should be aware of?  I'd hate to blow something up I wasn't supposed to?"  She looks depressed as she speaks.

"Oh!" she adds, "did your general make it back okay?"

[Carthrat]

"General Kunzite made it back fine," says Jam. What could happen, anyway?

"And yeah, feel free to blow anything else up.. but remember, you're supposed to be watching what comes in, and we're watching what goes out."

[kpjam]

"Blow up stuff that comes in... check.  You blow up stuff that goes out," she says softly, mostly to herself.  "Sounds good to me."

"If there's nothing else, we'll get to it!" she says loudly.  "Minako, out!"

[Carthrat]

"Bugbear, out," says Jam, ordering a deckhand to close comms with a wave of her hand.

"God, don't the Lunies put anyone intelligent in command?" she mutters under her breath. "I can smell a ditz a mile away.."

[Corwin]

To most everyone's secret relief, no ships attempt to run through the quarantined zone in the hours it takes Endymion's cruiser to reach Lunar orbit. Several more hours pass in relative quiet, its only high point being the departure of MDBG Serenity towards the Moon.

Roughly a day after Endymion's ship left Earth's atmosphere, Jam receives a coded message for Kunzite from the Earth's Royal Palace.

Jam pulls her commlink and dials 'P' for 'Person Responsible for Pay': "General Kunzite? We've recieved a message for you.. you'd better come to the bridge," she says into it.

[Corwin]

"Alright," Jam hears, and then she feels a presence suddenly appearing behind her.

"What's the situation?" Kunzite asks, the visual aftereffects of a teleport fading out rapidly.

[Carthrat]

"You have GOT to teach me how to do that- oh, uh, it's a coded message from the Royal Palace," she replies. "Looks important, do you want me to patch it to somewhere more private?"

[Corwin]

"Let's borrow the Bugbear's ready room," Kunzite replies, and walks towards a small door to the back of the bridge. "Are you coming?" he asks with a smile, glancing at Jam over his shoulder.

[Carthrat]

"Of course!" says Jam. "Deckhand Dilbert, patch the Generals message through," she orders, before following Kunzite out..

[Corwin]

Meanwhile....

"We are approaching Lunar orbit, Ma'am," the MDBG Serenity's captain informed Princess Minako, who asked to be present on the bridge for that occasion.

[kpjam]

Princess Minako looks up from the book she is reading concerning the history of earth.  "Good.  I'll be there shortly."


She quickly checks her make-up before heading swiftly towards the bridge.  Once on it, she looks at the view screen and says, "Status, Captain."

[Corwin]

"We've received clearance to land on just about every runway, except for the VIP one." Henry frowns. "Lunar Control was being evasive on the reason for that, Ma'am."

[kpjam]

Minako deflates slightly.  "Do you have a visual of the VIP runway?" she asks calmly.
