I'm upgrading my Circlet of Magnificence +6 (50,000gp/200,000gp) to a Circlet of Magnificence +8 (100,000gp/400,000gp). That leaves me with 27,300.10gp.

Can I upgrade my Cord of Dispelling beyond +5? Would the pricing continue along the same formula as pre-epic?

163,000 total, split between Afina, Jaela, Moore, Crystal, Ilsenine, and Aurora comes to 27,166.67 each.

Aurora fund from here is increased to 165,229.12gp.

It took like 3 or 4 links to track this down, so I'll paste the formula I'm using.

Turns out the MIC doesn't show its work (and is actually against it), so I ended up having to do this from scratch. I went with bonus squared times 1000. A +1 competence bonus to dispel checks is 1,000, +2 is 4,000, +3 is 9,000, +4 is 16,000 and +5 is 25,000 gold. The progression would continue to +6 and beyond in epic, I suppose.

I think the formula starts to break down and needs to be rejiggered. The early costs are fine, but as it goes, I feel the cost versus payout skews, particularly past +5. This is on me, but highsight's 20/20 and all that. Lemme get back to you on it tonight or tomorrow.

Baleruk puts his into his hoard for a new hoard total of 316657.42 gold. He spends 5,000 on the following:

A large aquarium made of high quality crystal and gold: 5000 gold.

Moonlight holds onto her money for a total of 16003 gold.

Ilsenine gives Afina the 27166.67 to pay off part of her debt. That leaves 22833.33 in debt, so the Aurora fund gets another boost, at least.

Crystal now has 59824.95 gold, which she hangs onto for now.

A follow up mechanics question to that: If Moore starts bardic music during the rounds of time stop, does it work like this?

Round 1: Use boots
Round 1a: Use Bardic Music (count 5 for duration)
Round 1b: Use other Bardic Music (Count 5 for duration)
Round 2: Musics 1 and 2 now have 4 rounds left

Jaela is correct. That's predicated on them being able to hear you and you being able to affect them in time stop. You can't affect other creatures while in time stop, unfortunately.

Okay, but the item says: if you create an area effect that lasts longer than 2 rounds, that effect applies normally once the duration of the item's effect expires.

Wouldn't bardic music count as being an area effect for the purposes of this? If not, it's still fine, I can do other things during the time stop and setup something else, so it's not a huge issue.
