Appreciations of the day

Let's see, went through the whole day without realising it was April 1st. Not one prank, pratfall, or akward situation to report.

Found Space Channel 5 for the ps2 in the bargin bin for $3. I laughed all the way home. Also, Tales of Legendia for $17 (bought), Shadow of the Coll-howeveryouspellit for $20 (next week) and God of War for $20 (also next week).

Having an SVN solution to back up all of my fanfiction and gaming stuff, so that when my desktop begins to die, I can have it all on my laptop?  Priceless.

I got my itinerary today.  I'm leaving at 6am tomorrow!

I've mixed feelings on the whole thing, but I'm thankful for some of it, so in to the thankful thread it goes.

The good:  I finally get to see my girlfriend again after two months of being apart.  I get to see my dog, my sister, and the rest of my crazy family and friends.

The bad:  This city is beautiful, I'll miss it.  It's started to feel like home in only five months (actual home didn't for over ten years).  I've made some great friends down here who will be hard to leave behind.  And I don't know *what* kind of mess I'm walking in to at work.

All in all, it feels like the good outweighs the bad right now, though.  Now, with any luck I won't miss this flight like I did the last one.

found some old backup cds and dvds with oodles of stuff I'd thought I'd long lost. Fanfic ideas, photoshop stuff, old sig pics... it's kinda neat.

I'm on apparently a project that has gone legendarily bad.  I mean 'this is the kind of stuff they use as case studies in text books on how to approach problems in the industry' bad.  We could do our entire final presentation without actually saying anything about the project other than a 15-20 minute long "Lessons learned:" section, without repeating.

Someone in industry mentioned I'd be prepared for any kind of client after this as ours is apparently famous for being horrible to work with.  I shrugged it off earlier, not seeing it.  I totally see it now.

We're down to about 60-70 hour weeks.  I'm going back to 40ish shortly, regardless.
