But anyway...

Watched the first two episodes of StrikerS (ep 1 subbed and ep 2 raw) and it looks to be mostly setup. You get introduced to all four new recruits (Subaru, Tiana, Ellio, and Caro) as well as a taste of Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate's new responsibilities. So far nothing really interesting or new has happened, which I'm hoping will change soon. Though I understand that this kind of setup is necessary given the hugeass time gap between A's and here (something on the order of 10 years).

Personally the slower pace doesn't really bother me for two reasons. The first is StrikerS is set to run twenty-six episodes which is twice the length of it's predecessors. The second is this gives more time to better develop the characters. The latter is especially important given the larger cast. As much as I like the first two series I won't blind myself into believing there was more character development than there actually was. I'm hoping that changes with StrikerS and judging by some of the stuff that's come up in the manga it may very well.

Speaking of the manga I highly recommend it to anyone planning to watch the series since it does deal with stuff that happens in the time between A's and StrikerS. It also hints at things to come as I mentioned earlier.

Three eps in.  I dunno, feels like (and is) that there was a lot of missed stuff between series.  It seems really mild so far.  Nothing that really has hooked as the cute as heck Nanoha training scene did for Nanoha As.  Still watching it though.  Hoping it gets a little less generic military and little more superior firepower.

The manga covers the time period between the end of A's and the beginning of StrikerS. Unfortunately the release is moving at glacier speed. Still you should try to read what is out there since it will give you a somewhat better idea where things currently are.

As for the mild part yeah it is I'll agree but that doesn't really bother me. We are still in the introductory phase. The good news is episode 4 should hopefully be the last introductory episode.

That scene was cute I'll agree. Still given the nature of the enemy they're facing bigger explosions aren't going to cut it. Afterall it matters very little how powerful your energy blasts are if the very second the energy expelled comes near the target it dissipates harmlessly. I'm glad they've introduced an enemy the Terrible Trio can't blast away with ease.

Even if they are machines... oh well. Someone HAS to be controlling them. The question though is who.
