For quick pitches so I can get them when I'm not at home =)
Well, Goodbye.

Ebiris

The concept I'm going for is a trickster priest type - think Xellos from Slayers, but more openly sinister and less jocular than he portrays himself.

Mechanically I think I'll play a Conjurer (banning evocation and enchantment). I'd also like to use this variant http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#rapidSummoning if allowed. Next level I'll take Malconvoker and stick with that class till I complete it.

Without knowing more about the setting and such I can't really flesh it out too much, but I figure my guy will be a distrusted and openly disdained, but nonetheless necessary, part of the church hierarchy for his dealings with demons and his skill at manipulating them. If we're using clans like in the Oriental Adventures book, he'd probably be a Scorpion or some similarly nefarious clan.

Dracos

I'll be getting more on the setting soon, though sinister is probably the wrong feel and thematic.  We can talk about it, but generally I think that sort of behavior and goals wouldn't actually involve the type of distrust that'd merit becoming harsh.  Those who can commune and call spirits will be a living part of the empire, one that readily and commonly admits the near touch of such things in their everyday lives.

Clans are avaliable and will be a part of the world set, but will be of lesser importance to the PCs.  You may have your clan and family, but your first duty is to the temple and in effect, that acts as your clan.

Anyhow, willing to be flexible here and a conjurer/summoner type will definitely fit.  Mechanically, I don't have a problem, let's just make sure it fits well and theme it good :)

Well, Goodbye.

Well, I'm not shooting for evil or anything, just somewhat creepy and having a notable fascination with evil creatures that would necessitate a degree of wariness from anyone who knows him.

Anyway, I'll work on a sheet tonight and more detailed background once we have more setting info.

Dracos

Creepy works, untoward fascination with the dark that has the elder monks worried about you and probably regularly sentencing you to extra prayers and sessions, yeah, that can work.  =)

And I will as I can.

Dracos
Well, Goodbye.

Corwin

My concept is Shizuru, serving a particular family in the Crane clan. May she have exciting naginata/unarmed combos and be devoted and ruthless without crossing into evil!
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Dracos

We've talked about this.  It's fine.  =)

Remember, you guys aren't part of the military, army or anything like that.  You are spiritual guardians. =P  More Miko/Priest in theme, less Ruthless dealer of death. =)  After all, if you were inclined that way, you would've gained acclaim in the army expanding the empire or defending it, rather than tending to the spiritual wellbeing of the nation. =)

Well, Goodbye.

Corwin

I deliver spiritual guidance the way Nanoha befriends people!

My idea is an aasimar warlock.  Basically, the progeny of a half celestial exorcist and a tiefling <.<

Sierra

Post of official interest, go!

I was inclined to play a short, excitable, green-haired spellcaster of some sort (the person I have in mind seems like she'd like making things go Boom), but if Justice is going to play a mage then maybe that's redundant. Well, I can be flexible in regards to class.

At any rate, she's most likely human, probably from some rural area, and Neutral Good or Chaotic Good (more likely the latter, but I can easily go with Neutral if Chaotic's problematic in this type of religious order). As a quirk, she really likes lizards and amphibians. No reason, really, she just thinks they're neat. She is almost terminally curious.

Sierra

Yeah, pretty much decided here: Chaotic Good Human Sorcerer. Sorc fits better with the character concept then the other spellcasting classes.

Eb:

Read over Malcovian.  It will be fine, given you theme it up well for the setting...which I should get finished soon.

As far as Rapid Summoning goes...  to my eyes, that's a lot better than the practical liability you give up for it.  I'm leaning towards letting you have it, but at the cost of a feat in addition to the lost familiar.

And I'm a little bit uncomfortable with what seems to be 3/4ths of the party playing wizard types.  I see Eb is playing a very specialized varient and that's okay.  I'll glance over warlock again and whatnot.  Just consider: Do you really want to have a party that's so heavily focused wizardry wise?
Well, Goodbye.

Dracos

Quote from: "JusticeFishy"My idea is an aasimar warlock.  Basically, the progeny of a half celestial exorcist and a tiefling <.<

Bad fishy.  *sprays with water can*  Pick a template and stick to the general setup of that template.  Not "I'm related to a tiefling and a half celestial".  That's too wacky.  More plain.  The interesting side should come from personality, character, and background.  Not that you're practically a genetic circus.

Dracos
Well, Goodbye.

Sierra

Well, I've noted that I'm willing to be flexible for the sake of party balance. If there's a concensus that the party's missing a particular type of class, I can try something else.

Dracos

Cid: Noted.  You guys should talk it over.

Eb:

Want to talk over with you malcovians and their summoning.  I really have one concern which may already be handled but:
Reading it, it feels too safe.  I'd have to look, but I'm pretty sure that by level 2 of malcovian you don't really have much of a chance of failing by 5 or more a bluff check versus them or other checks to go wild.

I'm going to read over them more carefully, but I'd like the theme with them to be: You can do it, but summoning demons is dangerous.  There's a reason folks don't just do it willy nilly.  They can break free sometimes, and having to deal with that is part of the danger.

Your thoughts?
Well, Goodbye.
