It's an opposed bluff/sense motive check, and by level 7 my bluff check should be +13, so yes, against some retard demon with a +0 sense motive, I have to roll a 2 or less to fail by more than 5, but that really just applies to fiendish animals and stupid demons - so most of them will be fine, up until say Summon Monster 5 when I can get Bearded Devils which have sense motive checks of +9, or Acherai with +11. It's a small chance against most summons, to be sure, but who would want an ability with a 50/50 chance of backfiring?

Anyway, I don't mind giving up a feat as well as my familiar for rapid summoning. You're giving us more feats than normal, anyway.

edit: On further consideration, if the devil summoner idea is too troublesome, I don't mind playing something else like a ranger, so don't be afraid to knock it on the head if you don't like it.

further edit: Actually, I'm feeling inspired now, I think I will play a ranger. Vague concept is archer dude with some improvements to the animal companion (I might take the Beastmaster PrC or something like that). Will come up with a more fleshed out concept tonight once I have my books to hand.

My tentative intended start date is the 14th.
I'll be trying to finish all of the background soon.

The first adventure, to bend the hand a bit, will be your arrival and trials at the temple, where you earn your right to be a divine.

Types of tests I'm intending:
Moral aptitude and kindness
History
Valor
Religion
Oneness with nature
Social

Please try and aim that you can succeed in at least one of these tests superlatively and preferrably in two or more.  It will assist narratively and help us work together to make it feel natural that you attain the role you do.  I will be unhappy if anyone hands me a character that is likely to fail horribly in multiple tests and not succeed well in one.

As far as the tests for the divines go, this is all of your first times taking it.   You have heard of them, but not witnessed them.  It is well known that you will only have one shot through them, which is why folks who are trying are rarely in a rush, and often at least somewhat mature.
Well, Goodbye.

Current status as I see it:

Eb and Cor are through status approval.  Cor's sheet is good and background is in final stages.  Eb, please get me a sheet and a then a background in that order.  I'll be around saturday morning if you want to roll hp.

Cid, if you're playing a sorcerer, that's fine, I'd like to hear a bit more on your concept and see a sheet soon though.

Justice, pitch your toned down aasimar warlock if you want it.  Pending approval on warlock of course.
Well, Goodbye.

Read over warlock.

I do not think this fits the campaign intent and more clearly looks like it'd be a constant chunk of work to properly rework.  Please choose something else.
Well, Goodbye.

Navi is going to attempt to join in replacement of JusticeFishy.

Please try and finalize sheets by friday.  I'm around by gtalk if folks have questions, or pm.

With Hayato swiftly retiring, I think I'd like to try playing a Spirit Shaman (page 14, Complete Divine).

Neither Keylin nor Sara really fit, so I suppose we'll have to assume my new character showed up late on the first day or something. Anyway, plan here is to play a guy who seems a bit crazy from his tendency to talk to spirits that may or may not be there. I'll flesh it out a bit more as I get into chargen, but that's basically the gist.

Reading over the class, I'm fine with it.  Sounds witchdoctorish in a way.  You should probably be a spiritfolk, to push the one foot in the realm of spirits.

For your spirit guide, you can use the existing ones or theme it more directly to the setting or background you have.  The setting has spirits, natural guardians, little gods and other things as far more common than otherwise, so it more believable that you might have a dolphin or a water nymph or a kappa or something, if you so choose.  This has no in game difference aside from theming.

Really cool level 19 ability.  Too bad we likely won't go there.
Well, Goodbye.
