Character generation for avatars. Read this, you'll probably be making a lot of these. Some rule changes are intended to speed up chargen for obvious reasons.

Hit points: Max at level 1, 50% every level after.

Stats: Standard point buy as per page 170 of the DMG. You have 15 points, as per the low powered campaign variant.

Races: Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Gnomes, Half Elves, Half Orcs, Halflings, Tieflings, Aasimar.

Classes:  Adept, Aristocrat, Warrior, Commoner, Expert, CW Samurai.

Feats: SRD standard feats, minus leadership and item creation feats. See banned feats in the house rule section.

Character level: 3.

Skills: As per normal. There's just no good way to speed these up, I recommend buying them in blocks as much as possible.

Gear: There is no starting GP. You may select any masterwork weapon from the SRD and any non masterwork armor besides full plate. As you explore the dungeon and find new items and magical items, these will become available to select on character generation. As of now you have no access to magical items or anything not listed below:

Any SRD masterwork weapon or weapons, limit 3.

Any SRD non masterwork shield or armor, limit one set of armor and one shield.

Backpack
Bedroll
Winter blanket
Chalk
Empty Flask
Flint & Steel
Mirror
10 foot pole
Iron pot
Rations
50ft Hemp Rope
Soap
Torch
Waterskin
Whetstone

Holy Symbols/Foci for clerics or any other class that needs them for spellcasting.
Healer's kit(Quantity 1; respawns like magical items on carrying PC's death in the dungeon.)
Flask of Acid(Quantity 1; respawns like magical items on carrying PC's death in the dungeon.)
Alchemist's Fire(Quantity 1; respawns like magical items on carrying PC's death in the dungeon.)
Masterwork Thieves Tools(Quantity 1; respawns like magical ittems on carrying PC's death in the dungeon.)

Magic Items:

Baby's Rattle: Heavy Mace+1. -2 diplomacy/intimidation penalty while on person due to the fact that you're carrying a giant baby's rattle. (Quantity 1; in Shadow's possession)
Baby's Bib: Bib of Protection+1; functions as a ring of protection+1. -2 diplomacy/intimidation penalty while on person due to the fact that you're wearing a baby's bib. (Quantity 1; in Shadow's possession.)
Mephit's Whistle: Once per avatar life for the person that selects it, it can summon a particular steam mephit for up to 1 minute(10 rounds). The mephit will aid you in the particular, highly caution way that it tends to. (Quantity 1; in Ranmaru's possession.)
Frozen Basher: Greatclub+1, frost. (Quantity 1; In Sacchin's possession.)

Spells:

Spell access will be controlled. All first level SRD spells are available right now, with the exception of any spells on the banned/altered list. Otherwise, all spells above that level must be found in the dungeon. Fast casting progression classes like Ur-Priest are theoretically hosed by this, but I don't plan to allow them in for awhile anyway.

Wizards and other spellbook based casters 5 spells+int mod spells for each level for now. I'll slap something more coherent together when you have neough spell slots to make it matter.

BANNED/ALTERED SPELLS:

Wizard/Sorc:

Glitterdust: BANNED
Invisibility: Now a third level spell. Note that it is not available now currently, as you do not have any third level spells available. Plus you're only level 3 anyway.
Rope Trick: BANNED.

Cleric/Favored Soul:

Aid: Now a 1st level spell since Aid fucking blows.

Druid:

Barkskin: Duration decreased from 10 minutes/level to 1 minute/level, AC bonus lowered to 2 plus 1 for every 6 levels (max +5 at 18th level)

Bard:

Glitterdust: BANNED.

First level spells found:

All SRD.

Second level spells found:

Cure Moderate Wounds
Heat Metal
Chill Metal

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Spirit rules:

Your spirit form may be from any world you wish, as long as the Dark One has come and wrecked it's shit. It doesn't need to be a D/D standard world, however, this would be an advantage. Your spirit form lacks any powers it had in life regardless of any related fluff to it. This includes knowledges and knowledge skills or anything else the DM deems. Basically, don't try and break this.

Any source is viable for your spirit, though if you're trying anything really out there run it by me first.

Bios should be a paragraph or perhaps two, more if needed. Pick something fun to play off of as this will affect everything, versus a single avatar that only has a partial impact.

Please include an alignment with your spirit.

Avatar rules:

The avatar is a focus and vessel for your spirit. Your physical and mental acumens are focused through it, it's entirely possible to be smarter or dumber in avatar form than in spirit form. Please use some variety with your avatars, don't spam the same form. This is hard early on since there's not many choices, so I don't fault you for it as much.

Dungeon rules since I'm a dumbass that forgot to give them an individual post:

The dungeon will change and adapt as avatars die or events warrant.

House rules:

No massive damage rule. Pain in the ass and I'm going to be doing more than enough to kill you as it stands.

All spellcasters get Eschew Materials as a bonus feat at level 1. I'd rather handwave non valuable or integral components.

Several feats are banned due to not being compatible in game: Leadership, all item creation feats.

Miscellaneous rules:

If you're going to be gone for more than a day or two, tell me. Odds are that I'll fiat kill your current Avatar for the sake of expediency. Not that this is a particularly big deal considering the rules.

Have fun. This is mandatory.

Posting conventions will be to use italics for rolls and mechanical actions. If you feel you're due a roll or will need to make one, feel free to make it and post it. Even if I end up ruling that you don't need it or can't make it, this saves us some time and keeps things moving. Use Hatbot, Rei-chan or my 'bot in #dunes or #elysium. I'll also make rolls for you if it happens mid post so as not to waste time waiting for you to see the post, rolling and them me finishing my post.

I'd like to encourage all of you to take chances and have fun. You're essentially immortal, so trying and failing has no stigma attached to it. Just don't be stupid and assume you can bleed your way through every problem; I will punish lazy or stupid playing.

This dungeon is not fair. I will not play nice. Expect to be hit back and not get away with the same tricks forever. There will be moments of asshole DMing. You will die, often in hilarious or painful or gruesome ways. Roll with it. If your spirit objects, he is welcome to complain in person to the Dark One on reaching his throne room.
