Euphemia tosses another pebble from the assortment she had picked up earlier, aiming at the damaged square.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

The pebble lands softly, no clatter from it. Nothing much happens.

Flasheart uses one of the ten foot poles handily provided by the Dark One and uses it to apply pressure on the ground beneath the crusher from a safe distance. "Lets see what it takes to set this off, eh?"

Corwin

"Shouldn't it have made a sound?" Euphemia wonders, observing the elfin man's actions.

Flasheart messes with the floor a bit, poking it with his pole! It goes about, poking and prodding silently.

"Aha!" Flasheart declares triumphantly. "A cunning trick, but not so cunning as to deceive I, Lord Flasheart!" Turning dramatically to his companions he invites, "Watch and be amazed!" before taking a run up and jumping across the ground below the crusher.

Anastasia

The crusher comes screaming down, impacting Lord Flasheart as he jumps across! It goes straight through him harmlessly, the Lord landing on the other side safely! After a few blinking moments, the party can see that the crusher and floor is gone - instead of a grisly smashing field, there  is another 5 foot gap ahead in it's place.

The jump goes well! The flying friend follows, "Triissckysss..." he murmurs.

<CC> Rat will surely leap across as well, and wouldn't want to pause here

I can't really argue with that. If I'm taking too many liberties, club me, Rat.

Sacchin leaps over as well! Ahead, twenty feet and peered out of the parting mists, looks to be another crusher, identical to the last one.

Contrary to popular opinion, Lord Flasheart isn't stupid. So he again makes with the poking at the next crusher and the ground beneath it.

Anastasia

This time the ground seems to be more solid - there's even reassuring click-clacking noises from the contact.

"Try it again, with more force behind it?" Euphemia suggests, ready to help apply it if absolutely necessary.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Ebiris

Flasheart puts a bit of muscle behind it.

If nothing results he'll try poking the crusher from below (but not directly below)

Strength check.

Putting his muscle into it, Lord Flasheart gets a reaction! All at once the pole is knocked from his hands as the floor rises up! The crusher falls at the same time, the two meeting in a painful, grisly sandwich five feet in the air! The sound of the impact is jarring, the two staying together several seconds to grind against each other. Then they lower - but as they do, a virtual stream of six blue snake-heads come from either side of the mist towards the descending platform, a speedy fly by before they vanish back as the platform and crusher return to their starting position!

The pole falls to the side, clattering against the ground, before it rolls off the edge and falls into the ravine.

Flasheart, -1 pole.
