Usually it is the last person (even if it -is- a retarded law). The girl had been insisting she felt two bumps though (which is why it's just her exhaust pipe bent, of course. Oh and why she sustained injuries), so the officer told my mom she was technically at fault as well, though he said he wouldn't give out tickets even though he should to both my mom and the other kid. But yeah, I don't just feel sorry for my mom, also feel sorry for the other kid. From my point of view, what I heard, and what I saw of the cars, the blame really is mostly the girl's, even if both my mom and the other kid were also partially responsible. That she's getting off scott free -and- piling on this injured bullshit is what irks me.

I'd been trying not to post in this thread because I'm already so negative and bitter.  But it seems justified, this time.

So, I'd been evicted, and today was my move day.  Mid arranging things to move to a storage locker while I couch-crash at a friends for a few weeks, I get a call that my step-father's mom's house burnt down, and she didn't make it out.  Her grand daughter was in the house, and made it out, but the girl's father (my step-father's brother) is missing in what we would call 'suspicious circs'.

I won't pretend to be close to the woman, as I (sadly) never thought highly of her -- but the old man (my step-father) is my favorite father figure (and I do have choices!), so I feel badly for him and his niece.

When it rains, it pours; an all around sucktacular day.

Some days suck. It doesn't matter what you do or how hard you try to adjust. With an inexorable knowledge that shit is coming, the day keeps getting worse. This was one of those days for me. Not a damned thing went right or how I planned.

I just got notice that I'm losing my job in 2 weeks, since I'm moving to Chicago to be with my fiancee.

A big screw you to my job. They're calling it a reduction in force, so I do get severance and I can collect unemployment.

They also told me in March that I would have a job once I move to Chicago. Two weeks ago, they changed their mind. Screw them.

But really, the best revenge I can get is to go out there and get a better paying job. I've already got a interview set up with a company that would give me over a 50% increase in pay.

And then I can sit back and laugh at how badly the people I used to support would be screwed by my not being there, because really, I did a heck of a job for them, and they know it, and they're going to be taking 4 steps backward.
