I didn't get the impression that he curves.

But he does have an end-of-semester project that he uses as a wildcard of sorts, as rather than being worth a set percentage of total grade, if he thinks you did really good, he'll raise your letter grade by one (and conversely, lower it by one if it sucks).

SO there's some hope from that, as projects usually do give time to think things calmly and make all the connections I need to make unlike 1 hour tests.
