Nah, nobody really cares if I'm late, but because I'm paid hourly I have to stay back to make it up, so instead of leaving at around 4 and dodging traffic, I'll get to leave at 5 and no-doubt get stuck in it.

I have consistently failed every single #$%!ing promise I have made to everyone who has e-mailed me to ask when my website will be updated.

That it's not my fault doesn't make me feel better, just that I am losing power over something that I should never have allowed out of my control.

Edit: This is why K:BDH 50 wasn't posted officially today. :|

It's generally understood that schedule promises on things like fanfiction and webcomics are governed by the strongest and most vicious form of Murphy's law ever imaginable.
That the dead tree with its scattered fruit, a thousand times may live....

This is not the greatest post in the world, no... this is just a tribute.

Dracos

Well, Goodbye.

Got laid off today.  Not really the best time for it. :(
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Dracos

Well, Goodbye.

Anastasia

Condolences. Unemployment sucks.

Yeah, I'm sorry to hear that, too. :\

<Cidward> God willing, we'll all meet in Buttquest 2: The Quest for More Butts.

Anastasia

On the bright side? If you were laid off, do you qualify for unemployment?

Yes, I can put in for my EI stuff.  We did most of that today, but I have to wait for my Record of Employment from the store to finish the process.  My former employer said they'd get that for me next week.

There are some positives to being laid off right now.   I can really devote myself to packing and I can start looking more seriously for work in the GTA, in preparation for Cy's possible job change.  I can also look into rental places out there and call people during normalish business hours.

Still, the whole thing sucks overall.  I didn't even have a chance to say goodbye to the girls I work with. I can always go back into the store, obviously, and I'll try but there's still a lot of coworkers and customers I would have liked to say goodbye to that I might not run into casually.

Conversely, it feels surreal to keep thinking "traffic jam in downtown Toronto, brr" whenever I see a GTA game.
