The plan has been established, so she waits merely for the spell to be cast to transfer them to Hell, not having any need for further words.
[20:00] * Jaela is clad in her full plate and carries Val'Finnegan, no longer seeking to disguise her nature or affiliation in any way on this trip to the lower planes. She is to play bait, after all. Once everyone is done with the preparations, there will be nothing to do but plane shift them to the location they determined ahead of time.
[20:01] * Willim stands ready to crush devil skulls, looking about and waiting for everything to get started.
[20:04] * Ithea likewise just waits for things to get started, gripping her new glaive at the ready, finally having a chance to test out Afina's worksmanship on the best targets possible.

[20:07] <Jaela> "We'll give you a bit of a head start," Jaela tells Afina. "A couple minutes should do it?"
[20:07] <Kotono> "It's Baator," Hanna takes a moment to look all 'round her, "No one likes it."
[20:07] <Afina> "Take cover and prepare to move swiftly," Afina recommends, "I will signal when it was time." With that she vanishes from sight and starts flying swiftly towards the fortress, intending to slow down and move with more stealth once half the distance has been covered.

[20:09] <Ithea> "Good luck," Ithea mutters as the pixie slowly starts to vanish ahead.

[20:10] <Kotono> Afina races ahead! She reaches the halfway point with all haste and speed, slipping by unseen. The mountain looms even taller now. The upper floor of a small keep can be glanced. Ahead on the walls you can see them. Around a dozen of the cornugons you have battled before. Each looks about without pausing, swords drawn and cracking with reddish fire.  OOC:

[20:19] <Afina> Rather than overflying the courtyard to reach her goal, Afina flies close to the wall and uses it for added cover as she circles the perimeter to get on the eastern side, waiting between the patrols so she has the most space between any two passing on this front before she ascends up and approaches the eastern side of the uppermost floor, where Gathgarion's suite lies according to their
[20:19] <Afina> informant.
[20:21] <Kotono> Thus Afina flies up! If the cornugons on patrol see her, they make no sign of it. She reaches the second floor's outer wall without incident.
[20:23] <Afina> Exercising prudence in the face of the unknown, since she could blunder into an ambush on the other side of this wall, Afina freezes her subjective time before she phases through the wall, ensuring she'll have a chance to react and hide or even retreat before anything could conceivably mark her.
[20:24] <Afina> OOC: 6th level spell sacced for time stop before going through the wall as a move action, leaving a standard to play with on the other side
[20:25] <Kotono> Afina passes through the wall! Within is a study. Tall bookshelves reach what must be 27 feet up if they're an inch, stocked with books. A grand desk, the color of rusty red, occupied one wall, papers neatly stacked on it. A single door leads ahead.
[20:28] <Afina> Just one door... if there are nine interconnecting chambers, and Ilsenine is in the third, does that mean she's in the ninth? Not relishing going through the intervening five, but less inclined to go back outside and blunder in blindly at another point, Afina recasts shadow form before time catches up with her, hiding herself amongst the bookshelves despite her invisibility before she ghosts

[20:31] <Kotono> From your position, you can faintly hear chanting. Chanting in Infernal, "Dread Lords, encase this child. Dread Lords, encase this child. Dread Lords, encase this child!" The chanting continues, three repeats of that before a few moments of silence, then it repeats. It sounds like multiple voices, too, each speaking in near perfect harmony.
[20:32] <Afina> Are there devils chanting around Ilsenine in that room? Is there a keyhole that she might be able to peek through? In any case she may as well report in to the others through the telepathic bond. 'I'm inside his quarters, haven't found her yet.'
[20:34] <Kotono> There is indeed a keyhole! Ahead you can see something - a bed room? A bed. Three figures are around it. Another fiend Afina knows all too well - the Lords of the Pit, Pit Fiends. Each has a nine-fold pentagram burned into its forehead, chanting sonorously and eternally. You can't see what lies on that bed, hidden from this angle. Yet, you feel a sense of uneasiness spread into pure dread,
[20:34] <Kotono> and for a terrible moment, your body is not your own. Unbidden your hand goes to the grip of your blade, bringing it up to your throat - before you abruptly stop, muscles listening.
[20:37] <Afina> Bringing herself under control, Afina forces herself to wait until contact is made with the enemy front. In that instant of confusion, she'll strike.

[20:13] <Jaela> "I'm not the only one who felt that, was I?" Jaela asks, glancing at her mother.
[20:20] <Kotono> "I felt it," Hanna confirms quietly, waiting.
[20:26] <Jaela> "Just in case it wasn't clear," Jaela muses out loud. "We're not really taking any of them prisoner. Let's concentrate on taking down as many as we can, even though it's not what really came for."
[20:27] <Kotono> "Yes," Hanna says, "Any you slay here are gone for good. Hold nothing back, except to save your life and ensure retreat. Every devil that dies here will never oppress another land."
[20:28] * Willim nods, cracking his knuckles loudly. "Gonna smash 'em up good then."
[20:28] * Jaela glances at Annalise. "And I'm really sorry in advance for when my spear will burn you since we're all so close. But it's not even as bad as the crown so you're fine, right? Right?"
[20:31] <Kotono> "Yeah," Hanna nods, flexing and starting to pace, "This is the hardest part, waiting."
[20:31] <Kotono> Annalise merely shakes her head, "I'll just take it out on these infernal pests."
[20:33] <Kotono> Meanwhile, the party hears through the bond: 'I'm inside his quarters, haven't found her yet.'
[20:33] <Jaela> 'We'll start moving ahead?' Jaela sends to everyone in response, although the true target is Afina.
[20:34] <Ithea> "Well, she's doing well at least..." Ithea says, waiting for Afina's telepathic response to Jaela's question before agreeing and starting to move.
