Finally paid off and closed the line of credit I had to take at the bank to get "them fancy booklearn'ins". Seven years in total with something that was both a constant companion as well as a monkey on my back. Feels strange, but good.

Got a +3% raise! I've only been working here for 6 weeks too so I'm pleasantly surprised.

Wish my boss didn't have such a serious/grave sounding voice though as I'm naturally a worrier/paranoid type. I nearly had a heart attack at finding a phone message from after I left yesterday, asking me to go see him. The tone had me thinking I'd screwed up somehow or pissed someone high up or something and I was going to get chewed out. Couldn't even think what I might have done either.

Damn man keeps tone up even as he greets me, shuffles through some papers, looks at me, then at papers, then congratulates me and says I've been doing a good job, so it takes a second for it to actually register.

May be that paranoia, but I suspect he does it on purpose. I had the feeling he was struggling not to laugh as I left his office.
