Safe and secure? Check. Your own rooms? Check. No danger now? Also check. For Tryll and Calleigh, life is unusually good. A pleasant afternoon is passing when Elena appears, "Hi," she says without preamble, "You were curious about psionic items?"

Calleigh makes a noise much like a slide whistle played with far too much force. "Elena! HI! Yes! Hello! Yes, we are! Hi!"
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Anastasia

"Well, we can't make them." Elena says, "None of our major smiths have any talent in psionics at all. Your best bet is to go recruiting. Dana has no talent at creating those things, even though she's a talented psionic."

"Ohhhh good idea! Where should we go? To Arborea or Gehenna or Limbo or Celestia or Fire or Water or Lightning or PLANT or A PRIME!?"

"That's up to you, but Elder Magi Tepen said he'd be happy to give you some suggestions," Elena says, "He's in the library. Bye!" She then vanishes, gone.

Tryll and Calleigh zip off toward the library, causing no small amount of commotion.

You hurry to the library. It's quiet here as always, save for the occasional dry turning of a page or hushed murmur. Looking about, you can see Elder Magi Tepen here along with Sage Vul'lath. The two are deep in quiet discussion over something or another, a book open between them. You can also see Moonlight, a book open before her. A book she uses as a pillow, quietly napping. Canderella's also here, deep in some thick book that occasionally crackles with lightning, as if a thunder bolt in material form.

Calleigh zig-zags with a thin zipping noise, rapidly and erratically approaching Tepen.

As you get closer, Sage Vul'lath looks up. His lips turn down in a thin frown, glaring disapprovingly at Calleigh. Elder Magi Tepen doesn't react, instead seemingly absorbed. He says, "But if we substitute another name, such as Zaaman Rul, then will it be possible to invert the third symbol into a septagram?"

Roll to see what the heck they're talking about?

It looks to be an arcane ritual. A septagram is a seven pointed star, sometimes used by righteous spellcasters when a pentagram would be called for and disdained. In this case, part of the septagram apparently involves engraving names of power, with Zaaman Rul being one of those names.

Calleigh nods thoughtfully. "Yeah, using a septagram with Zaaman Rul will help you balance out the magical doohickey so the stack doesn't overload causing a cascading failure."

After a moment, "Might wanna add some more whammie to it though. Raziel?"

Elder Magi Tepen turns, "Oh, Calleigh and Tryll," he greets, smiling slightly. "We'll come back to this," he says to the gith, who departs silently. "I heard you're interested in psionics?"
