The sea elf shrugs and gets up, "I was just going," he says in elven, swimming off and away.

Maybe she just needs a change of perspective. The only other name she came across was this wealthy and active merman, so Jaela decides to look up more information about Clinal. And since a devil might be obvious to her sight, she detects evil subtly throughout her interactions in Risem.

It's a mixed bag. She detects faint evil from some creatures, mostly the sahuagin. Nothing telling, nothing more than faint auras in the streets.

- Clinal's been throwing a lot of money around in Risem.

- Oh, Clinal? Shush! Keep your head down if you offend him, since he remember his enemies and debts. You'll end up short a head.

- Clinal's manor is the Pearly Rook, a wide tower just in the boundaries of town.

Taking the golden bar from Mirima, Jaela leads her little group to Clinal's manor!

You swim on over to it. It's a tower made of the same sedimentary rock as the rest of the town, four stories tall. No other buildings are near it and it has no windows. There's a door on the top of the roof and a door at the ground level.

Jaela knocks on the door at the bottom, as she is a human used to walking on the ground!

It's hard to knock in water, but you manage to get a decent knock going. Mirima murmurs into your ear as you do, "Do you think some servant will let us walk right in?"

[Corwin]

"He's a trader, we're here to trade," Jaela responds matter of factly. Though really all she needs is for this shady guy to hear about them snooping around and treasure.

[Anastasia]

There's a long pause before a slit on the door opens up, a pair of sea blue eyes visible. "Yes?" The voice asks, a question in a single word. A man's voice, for what it's worth.

[Corwin]

"Hi!" Jaela greets the pair of eyes, raising the golden bar up to their level. "We heard that Mister Clinal is the one to talk to about this sort of thing."

[Corwin]

[Anastasia]

1st round, presence of evil but not the location or strength. Speaking of, what spells and protections against divinations do you have on you?

[Corwin]

I dont use anti divination stuff. Veil is the exception here.

[Anastasia]

"Is that gold?" The man asks, voice going up a little bit, "A bar of gold?"
