Hanna's muscles slowly revert, her body shrinking as she exhales. Mirajane does the same.

"A warmup," Hanna tosses her hair and then wipes her brow, "Nothing more than a door guard to keep out the unworthy."

Mirajane follows, "You want me to learn that part of your fighting style, mother?"

[Corwin]

"You could, it's pretty unstoppable," Jaela muses. "Though there's more important stuff I want you to get. Drawing attention and protecting others, while using enough armor to survive that properly. Counters. All the counters. This? It's behind them, really."

[Anastasia]

"The counters I hesitate with," Mirajane admits freely as you walk, "I see the pain coming and it is difficult to maintain focus. Grandmother's rage is easier for me, more natural."

[Corwin]

"It's hard to master your control over it enough to have usable magic during," Jaela points out. "It's why I never use that option myself." Though she has the spell, since you never know....

"My style's intended to help with issues like yours," she continues. "I'm not Dana, I think pain is useful in measure, not as some goal of its own. I've noticed that you don't like to rely on gear much, and it's a valid choice! But I'd feel better about you crusading across the planes if you knew all the little tricks I came up with for when you really do need that extra edge." Jaela tilts her head in thought. "Back to the counters, how about starting with the magic? It's pretty useful, and doesn't force you to risk taking a hit one bit."

[Anastasia]

"In all truth, I like it like this. Nothing but my own body to rely on." Mirajane gestures down at herself, "What magic are you thinking about, mother?"

Meanwhile Afina leads on. The passage continues on, though ahead you see it turning to the right. A rather sharp turn, so you can't see anything beyond it.

[Ebiris]

Maybe there's someone just waiting to lunge out and hit them?! Afina's prepared to dodge or retreat if that's the case but she's not taking the same sort of precautions as she might when sneaking in enemy territory, simply flying up to the corner and looking to see what's around it.

[Corwin]

"There's nothing like shutting down a loser devil wizard when he tries to cast a spell on you and your army," Jaela muses. "I'll show you if this comes up, so pay attention!" She thinks a bit, before adding, "I got that you didn't like to rely on gear, but you should still give my lessons a try. Even if you decide to abstain, there's more to figure out with just what you can do on your own. I feel like I'm going to find a breakthrough with the light, and as a natural-born angel you'll have more options open before you there."

[Anastasia]

The path continues - but barring it is a woman. She's about six feet tall and snow white, with light blue hair. She is unclad save for a few flurries of snowflakes around her body.

"Yes, mother," Mirajane says, "If not for the sentinel's call, I feel I would have followed Grandmother's footsteps, nonetheless. There's something about the rage, something..."

"Liberating." Hanna adds, glancing back the way you came. "Something that all the spellwork and diplomacy in Creation doesn't satisfy."

[Corwin]

"Weirdos," Jaela says light-heartedly, catching up to Afina. And then, after a blink, trying to copy the snowflake pattern herself while letting Afina field this.

The creature before you is a snow weird. A spirit of air and cold, they are powerful sorcerers and seers. They can command elementals to do their bidding and fear fire.

Your light flickers out for several moments before you manage to replicate it. Harder and it's not precisely covering it all - but it isn't for the elemental, either. Moving little snowflakes have difficulty doing that, who knew?
