'Tepen, is Vul'lath available?' she sends as soon as she examines the sword. 'I need one of you at my location immediately.'

After a moment's thought, she adds, 'Priest and Sylvie too, I think they should be at the Aurora. Let's throw numbers at the problem.'

[Anastasia]

'Vul'lath is busy, but I can get you Sylvie and Priest,' Tepen sends back.

Plan?

[Corwin]

I want them all to see the sword, focusing on the two orbs, and come up with the best method of recovering our people. If we can outright Resurrect them here, for example, that would be best.

[Anastasia]

Sylvie can make the DC for this trivially once she goes at it hard, so I'll skip the rolling.

Back in Aurora as the war wages on, you check in with Sylvie and Priest. You all study it and finally Sylvie says, "The bad news is that this is an artifact," she announces, "It's from divine origins and we can't just break the gems open. They're designed for a customized spell to free them. I believe it would be 11th circle, which is just within our reach. It's called soul harvest and you can do many things with the souls within, including freeing them."

Priest frowns as he studies the blade, "Do not touch it lightly, it is powerfully cursed by darkness. Canderella and Hanna are in great pain, but we must not be rash. It is a dark and dangerous blade."

[Corwin]

"I know the spell," Jaela says in an even tone of voice. "I was even considering asking the Triune for it, so that's one option. Do we have others?"

[Anastasia]

"No. We can't destroy it. I'm not sure what it would take to sunder this sword, but it would not be quick or easy." Sylvie shakes her head, grimacing, "I can see the sin in it from 21, each kill drenching it in blood. Before you ask, I'm not sure what 21 would do to those two since the blade's so filled with evil and I can't recommend risking it. Once they're free, yes, I would be glad to destroy it."

[Corwin]

"Inquire with all our allies as to whether they have a scroll of the spell, then use the Aurora funds for two of them for Mom and Candy," Jaela tells Sylvie. "Can I leave that to you? We can't leave them suffering for an entire day like this."

[Anastasia]

"I'll look into it," Sylvie says, "Where you going now?"

[Corwin]

"To rest," Jaela responds. "In the Triune's temple, so that I'm close enough to intervene if I'm needed. Fighting the twins and then this fucked up dogai twice wiped me out. I need... geez, I need half an hour or so to get back to myself, in case Taelfagn shows up."

She sighs, giving the sword another distasteful look. "Listen, don't tell Mirajane anything, alright? Not until we're ready to bring Mom out of there."

Going to do anything while resting?

Once 15 minutes have passed, I'll memorize a few spells. Then, I'd like to take a look at the loot from the twins that Afina told soldiers from a squad below us to gather, in case they have something immediately usable.

My intention is to remain on call and to wait for either Sylvie to come through for us or for enough time to pass that the Miracle effect is gone.
