Question about getting regular true seeing on an item.

It looks like Sylvie bought something called Fairy Glasses back in the Before Time, are those still available? http://www.soulriders.net/forum/index.php/topic,101784.msg1043800.html#msg1043800 It appears to just be glasses that function as a Hathran's Mask of True Seeing.

I think RAW an item that works like that would be 6x11x2000x2+250x100 but obviously if I can save a ton of gold by going this route that'd be great!  I can always upgrade it to the better version later.

Would a ring that covers all 5 Energy Resistances just be (44,000 x 5) / 4? I.e. 55,000?

There's two items that do this, the latter of which came up in the epic pricing redo a few weeks ago. Check out the ring of greater universal energy resistance.

Oh, I somehow missed that.

Moore has 235221.72 gold.

Okay, then a Ring of Greater Universal Energy Resistance is 300k / 4 = 75000

Moore would like to add a 1/day cast of Endure Elements onto it, so that is...

1*1*2000 = 2000

2000/5 = 400

400/4 = 100

So he'll spend an extra 100 gold for that onto the ring. Really breaking the bank here with that one.


That leaves him with 160121.72.

He's going to buy a Hathran's Mask of True Seeing but use Sylvie's motif and just turn it into a pair of glasses instead (glasses make you look smarter, you see). If the number is still the same, that's 18750 base.

He would like to add the following, so let's see if I got the math right.

Third Eye Clarity Effect (3000 *2) (MIC Doubler) * 1.5  = 9000


+15 Bonus to Appraise = ( 15 * 15 ) * 100 = 22500
+15 Bonus to Spellcraft = 22500
(Do I also need to multiply these by 1.5?)

He'd also like to have Afina make him a Quilium Threaded Cloak that he'll work some magic on, is there a cost or anything for that material?

No cost. Afina scrapes up her already broken suit of quillium full plate to salvage enough for a pixie sized cloak.

This is just a placeholder and a title so I can find it in a search easily. When I do the next booster for that, this will be refined and a part of it.

Ring of the Energetic Voice

This silver and emerald ring is flashy, worth several thousand gold from metal and gem value alone. When worn by a character without levels in bard, it grants a +5 competence bonus to Perform (Song) and nothing else. When worn by a bard, the ring's true powers emerge. The wearer gains a +20 competence bonus to Perform (Song) and an additional 5 daily uses of bardic music. The wearer's voice is clear and loud, the range it can be heard at doubles, including for bardic musics that function so long as they can be heard. The wearer's voice penetrates silence effects of 6th level or lower. Finally, the wearer gains a +2 bonus to the caster level of spells with the sonic descriptor.

Overwhelming varied; CL 21st; Forge Ring, carrying voice, shout; Price: 257,250 gold.

Can I just tack on a ring of protection's +5 armor to the Greater Universal Energy Resistance Ring or does it not work that way?

You can. See the rules about adding additional properties to magic items in the SRD. It's in the creation magic items section.

Okay, so then it looks like it's just the flat cost of whatever I'm adding per those instructions.

Then Let me redo the math post so I make sure I have everything:

Cost is multiplied by 1.5, so that makes it 18750. He already had the ring +5 so I think it's fair to just pay the difference, which is 6250

This creates the following: Moore's Ring of Powerful Protections - 30 resist to all types, 1/day Endure Elements and +5 Deflection AC

Afina's discount applies at the end, after totaling all other modifiers, including the stacking one.

EDIT: I think I missed some math somewhere, so I'm going to start after the Ring of Universal energy protection and so on. Subtracting an extra 50 gold gives me 160071.72.

So in that case then it's:
