"Can't you use stronger healing magic, or get someone else to use it on you?" Afina asks as she spots Moore going for a second level one healing spell after the first. "We're under a lot of time pressure."

"Just catch up," Jaela declares, casting her spells on the go.

"I can just do it while we're moving." Moore says with a shrug. "It's overkill to use it on a few scrapes and burns."

Thus the party  moves along. Barely after Moore gets his second healing spell off, you see the slope ahead widening. No devils yet, but Afina's sharp eyes sees it again - rills of lava moving, twisting up just like it did before.

"Don't fall behind then," Afina says, closing her eyes a moment as she hastes everyone before hurrying onwards.

Surraruthru's power is not enough. The lava keeps coming -and stills at Jaela's second barrel. It's still, at least for the moment, no incoming attack.

"They must have had someone exceptionally powerful prepare these traps," Afina says worriedly at the fact it took two dispels from Jaela to do it. That just makes her hurry along all the more determinedly!

[Anastasia]

"Taelfagn himself?" Canderella wonders aloud as you hurry along. Ahead the path tightens again. It's about 10ft by 10ft, a long and narrow tunnel ahead. 30ft ahead the way is blocked off with shimmering fields of black ice, unmelting in the extreme heat. They go about 5ft up, wands and eyes seen beyond, dozens of both. It's barely a gap six inches tall, with another barrier of ice going from there to the ceiling.

Afina's sharp eyes can notice the lava below is starting to stir again as well, as...

Init. Time to see if you can break through an outer ring of defenses.

"Could've been a group effort," Jaela proposes. "We all have ways of getting better at this for a price. And with our lineup, I can afford to focus on defense."
