I'm reading "Tales of Demons and Gods" which is a light novel by the way. ;)

Haven't checked on that one in awhile.  Is it still being translated?

What Do You Want continues to update at a good clip. I'm mostly skimming the fiancee interaction bits, they just aren't doing it for me. The other current plot's a little more interesting.

[spoiler]The ideas of Ranma's mind and the curse aren't really new, but it's not indefensible. Akane's bit about Ranma's girl form being a picky flirt does make sense and made me nod along like yeah, okay, I can see where you're coming from. Rationalize it and P-Chan like that and there you go.

Pretty sure Ranma's girl side has something for Ryouga at this point, so maybe this ends up a Ranma and Ryouga fic? I dunno. It's kind of pinwheeling and doing its own thing at this point.

Dracos

Looked at that today.

Spoiler: ShowHide

Yeah, it kind of feels like almost everyone in that fic became super okay with any relationship, any relationship at all.  Kinda preferred the more simple Nabiki/Ranma connection the story started with.

It's created a situation where the OC villainess is almost the entirety of the intentional antagonist behavior, which leaves things a bit lopsided.  But then I am just flitting through it and haven't been reading straight since the 'we are basically trapping Ranma as a girl on threat of legal blackmail'
Well, Goodbye.

Anastasia

Yeah.

[spoiler]

It really does feel like someone exploring a Ranma fanfic for the first time, going about on whatever catches their eye.

A shame, as it had a strong start, and even individual scenes remain well written.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/shadow-of-the-bay-worm-naruto.615497/ this is a pretty good crossover.  Tenten is warped into Worm early in series.  Doesn't speak the language, or understand the culture.  Interrupts Coil's capture of Lisa who learns her language via worm BS and teaches her some English slowly, including misunderstandings like the PRT as a shinobi organization.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/i-woke-up-as-a-dungeon-now-what-dungeon-worm.620521 I am enjoying this as well, which is more an original setting, post ending where Taylor ends up as a sentient dungeon, which is silly but played straight.  The world setting itself has a fair bit of lore the people in it know about dungeons but Taylor certainly doesn't.  Dungeons in the setting tend to be able to generate loot and land prosperity (Healthier land around them) so a group of starving migrants decide to make contact rather than try and kill her off early while she's weak.
Well, Goodbye.

New Worm/BoF crossover posted yesterday. It's okay so far, it should hopefully improve as it goes on. Has a bit of fanon issues that should hopefully be cleared up.

I am reading this.  I handwaved it at first, because frankly the start is uninteresting, but it gets good.  It is the story of Delta.  Who was a person, maybe, and is now a dungeon.  And the town around her.  And how she breaks things, because she wants to not kill things and thinks pottery making mycenoids teaming up with pyromancer goblins in a room of mud are neat.  A lot of it reflects on a somewhat silly worldsetting around it and consistent puns.

Also mushrooms.  The bane of delta.
Well, Goodbye.

Man, it lost me right away. No lead up, straight into badass. Couldn't swallow it. Didn't even finish the first chapter.

Fair enough. I'm lukewarm on it personally. It's not bad, but it hasn't grabbed me deeply, either.

Taylor triggers when she first meets Sophia with an Alexandria package as well as lightning blasts. It's okayish so far, nothing great but passable popcorn reading.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/asoiaf-si-no-promises.610762/

Yet another ASOIAF crossover, but this one with a good writer. It's amusing for what it is, especially in the past few chapters as things pick up.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/re-hero-re-zero-worm-crossover.630877/

Eidolon survives his battle with Scion after the four words are spoken by his power throwing him through the dimensions, past the Entity's dimensional lock and into the world of Re:Zero. Shenanigans ensue. Note that the chapter at the beginning is retconned for a different approach, use the the threadmarks to get to the real chapter one. This gets points for being original and different, we'll see how it looks in a few chapters. Seeing Eidolon simply stop caring and his mindset after's a breath of fresh air from yet another Taylor fanfic.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/white-mage-worm-final-fantasy.629425/

Taylor has the powers of a White Mage from Final Fantasy. It's okay, see how it develops sort of fic.

I'm absolutely in love with this author's prose. She's got a way with words that can really put you in a character's shoes. The last few chapters have been real gems.

DK:A happened at some point. Ami did a cool thing.

DK:A continued to happen. The rather plodding pace of Dwarf Stomp was redeemed when Ami

accidentally took over the dwarf fortress
, totally without meaning to. The political implications of this should be interesting.

Unfortunately I suspect that, given the plodding pace of updates, the story has long ago become top heavy in the mind of its author. Which is a perennial philosophical problem with fanfiction. When the very genre is motivated by the idea that good stories should be continued and expanded indefinitely with new ideas, it's unsurprising that many stories keep being written until they stop being good or become impossible to write.

I think DK:A was one of those stories that worked when the author could update more often than he does now. I feel like it's slowly drowning these days.
