That's some nasty arcana. Someone took a counter measure against divination and made it offensive. That's probably beyond mortal magic and an a 10th+ level spell. Go divining, trip it and get smacked hard. That or its a deity up to no good, which is also possible and terrifying.

You've heard of Sharrans laying curses like that, where the eyes are destroyed and only Shar's symbol remains. Barring great magic indeed, Leyral will never see anything but Shar's unholy symbol again.

Well, gonna get the cleric first. Hopefully he can break the curse on Leyral and hopefully commune with Selune about Shar getting involved here.

In the council meeting, need to tell them Shar is involved and discuss ways to counter her influence/reach here if possible, and what gods/forces we can align with to that end.

And then we need to figure out what the dead guy's connection to Shar was in the first place.

It takes time to get the balding, middle aged man that is the quickest cleric of Selune. He chants over Leyral and shakes his head, "Shar's curse is strong on him. It will take a great miracle to save him."

"My eyes...my eyes..." Leyral chants again and again, sounding sick.

"Stay with him, do what you can. Knock him out if you have to. I'm going to the Council Hall."

With that, she Dimension Doors away to the hall!

The Council Hall is tense. Everyone waits for you, as you see a few faces as you come in.

Regent Delaize is there, hood still up and gaze far away, perhaps pondering.

Ule is there as well, in his capacity as a regent.

A tall, lanky woman is also here. Her hair is black and cut crudely short, a long scar down her left cheek. Regent Madala Hawkwine, a generalist sorcerer of not inconsiderable skill.

"Ah, Alyssa," Regent Madala greets, "I see your inspired leadership faces a challenge here." Her voice is friendly enough on the surface.

Uh, is this person actually friendly or not? Seems like something my character would know.

She isn't a fan, no.

"More important things, Madala. Far more important things. Is everyone here?" She says brushing past the snarky woman as she heads to her position in the hall.
