"We haven't gotten to trickery yet." Calleigh leans in, "Unless you want trickery?

"Sir," Ebony's voice is controlled but powerful, "Stand aside." Two words, her gaze on him.

Something that gaze is too much, for the man turns heel and flees. Ahead is the mansion, yours to explore as you like - for now.

"He's supposed to be in the vault! Let's see if we can find an entrance!" Calleigh says, going incorporeal as she and Tryll skim the floors and walls for entrances..

Roll and post 1d100, as well as a Perception check for Tryll and Calleigh.

Servants appear and scurry away quickly as you search. You quickly end up in a library, Tryll's skimming finding a secret entrance behind a bookshelf, stairs going down.

The mansion itself is nice - rich, expensively kept and decorated. Admittedly though, the hundreds of books in this library nor the rolling ladders really catch your attention - your focus is on other things.

'Secret stairway in the library. How cliche.' Tryll sends to Ebony as Calleigh rejoins him.

"Convenient - or a trap to catch those who would assume it to be the true path," Ebony murmurs, "Regardless, we have little choice but to take it. How do we open it?"

'Why bother when we can just pass right thro-oh right you're not an eladrin. Right. Well, we have a few options. Disintegration, tearing it off the wall, or finding the mechanical lever in. Which would you prefer?'

"Whichever is fastest," Ebony says, "Assuming your mind can withstand further exertion and be ready for a serious battle." She gives you a look at that, "Can it?"

'Of course. I'm not even halfway spent for the day.' Tryll says, casually disintegrating the obstacle.

Well, that's one less bookshelf. The way to the stairs is ahead. Down the party goes, down and down into near darkness. Only the occasional candle mounted on the wall lights the way, the path down remarkably dark. In the end it terminates in a rather stout steel door, blocking the way ahead.

Tryll once again manifests True Seeing and briefly checks what's on the other side before disintegrating his way through!
