"That's the assumption," Zaaman Rul says, "Information that's leaked has suggested that."

Atesh nods and rest backs, exhaling, "Hasalur's smart, capable but still remaking his bureau in his image.  He's proven capable when pushed, most Baatorian diplomats stay semi-passive if conditions permit for 9 or 18 years. He's holding the status quo. Watch out for that one, he's a good talker. He'll be dangerous once he's settled."

[Corwin]

"What would happen were he offered a tempting chance to make waves before he was ready? Would the nobles of the Court scheme to make him out to be guilty of crimes against the Grand Sultan?"

[Anastasia]

"Possibly, but it's not likely unless he seriously offends someone," Zaaman Rul, "We use it more to discredit devils when we can. He'd have to make a big misstep for the nobles to act against him that directly. Blackmail's more likely for leverage."

Atesh clears his throat, "What sort of tempting chance?"

[Corwin]

"If suddenly his counterpart were no longer a factor, I imagine even a recent devil appointee will find the opportunity to tilt the scales too much to be able to restrain himself."

[Anastasia]

"If you can eliminate Akil bin Faheem?" Atesh says, "Everything would be wide open while people adjust," he whistles, "I like it."

"So do I. Seira has promise," Zaaman Rul says, "That circles back around to the main point of this: What's Faheem doing right now?"

[Corwin]

"I can face him in the City of Brass, but in the current climate it might be best to have the confrontation out of sight," Seira elaborates on that. "If I knew where he would be, it would give me a better chance."

[Anastasia]

"Right now, he's been in the City of Brass as far as I know. He's been less eager to explore his holdings lately," Atesh says, "But I can ask and send word back. Someone in his household owes me a huge favor."

[Corwin]

"If it won't take too much time, I could delay."

[Anastasia]

"Give me three days," Atesh says, "If I haven't gotten it by then, I'm not able to." He bows his head to you, "Kill Akil bin Faheem. Too many have suffered for his glory and comfort."

[Corwin]

"I'll make a good effort at it," Seira promises. And given the team she intends to take against him, it should work!

[Anastasia]

"That is all I can ask of you," Atesh replies. "Can I answer any more of your questions?"

[Corwin]

"Not at present, thank you," Seira responds, "though once we manage to narrow down Bin Faheem's whereabouts, information about his defenses and the area itself would become important."

[Anastasia]

"I will provide all I can," Atesh agrees.
