Seira sends her encouragement, keeping a clear watch!

Before Yegola is the unholy sanctum. Priests of Shar, her vile faithful. Looming over it all is Shar's eye, the symbol of black and purple that looms over all.

Unholy power comes flowing. Shar's power sweeps her minions, empowering them even further, yet Yegola does not relent. "Come!" Yegola challenges, "Even if I am to fall, my life shall cost you more than you can afford!"

A pair of large fire elementals walk at Yegola's side from one step to the next, covering his flanks, while his wounds are healed. There is no need to overdo it the way Shar is, for merely evening out the odds a bit is enough for Seira to give Yegola his shot at success!

It's brutal. Yegola is fighting valiantly, bravely. But wounded and even with aid, he's simply being outmatched here. One priestess goes down, head rolling along the floor. Another is impaled, kicked away and gasping - but more come. He's being peppered with spells, bleeding badly from a dozen wounds. He's wobbling on his feet, the elementals occupied.

Here another fool will perish, Seira. Are you proud of him for offering his life up for nothing?

In ragged Draconic, Yegola murmurs under his heavy, pained breathing, "Then...now and forever...shall I stand...for a better tomorrow! I can't forget...the way...because you're showing the way!"

Watch. Watch as he perishes. Watch as entropy swallows another life whole. It is your fate to join him one day, Seira. It is everyone's fate.

"There is no fate," Seira speaks up in that sanctum. "Of course I'm proud of Yegola, Shar!"

He can still do! Seira had pulled off bigger upsets than this, and just as she provides a path to victory, however unlikely, so must she give her faithful the chance to follow down the same path. Even now, brought down like that, Yegola is still trying rather than ask her for help!

Today: Rei's tragic struggle with bitchiness.

You watch - and Yegola hangs on, parrying, blocking, slicing - and it's really just a fluke blow. A priest goes to engage him, an unthrown chakram in hand. He slips on a bit of blood, chakram in hand as he turns it into a lunge - right into Yegola's throat. He drops his sword and falls to his knees as a mace slams into his head. The sound of it is horrid, a CRACK that echos as surely as his skull is shattered.

You feel's Shar's triumph, dark and horrid. You feel Yegola's spirit emerge from his body, a black hand reaching for it.

No. This one's path does not lead to you, Shar. Stand aside. It is my duty to see him to eternity.

The voice you hear is one you known - the voice of Helm.

Chance to react. That was horrible luck.

Fucking Shar! Seira slaps at that reaching hand, welcoming Yegola to her. Normally, she wouldn't have much luck with that, but given Helm's taken over this task he hadn't failed in it yet!

#532
There is a moment - a dreadful moment. Raw duty and overwhelming oblivion face one another down. You feel it as one feels an earthquake - deep and in your bones, powers surging together.

Leave!

The hand withdraws, no resistance as you pull Yegola to you. His soul is in your hand, a radiant thing unbowed by the struggles of life.

Your duty shall not shield you forever, Watcher.

Die trying, for I shall stand until the end.

Two can be spiteful, and Seira detonates Goldenfire over Yegola's body and effects! Considering how disgustingly creepy Shar's followers are, she won't leave a piece for them to desecrate.

Plus it'd be nice if some of them die in a fire.

"You've worked very hard," Seira tells Yegola, withdrawing from that spot on Prime. "If we managed to win every time, we would be out of our jobs, eh?"

Anastasia

You have him? Helm's voice is heard to you, as Yegola's body burns away into goldenfire, surviving cultists burnt, a few falling as others retreat from it.

Yegola glows gently in your palm, a sense of peace and wonder from him. ']I fought until the end. I have no regrets.'

"Nor should you have any," Seira tells Yegola. "You've fought well and never gave up."

She pauses, before telling him, "Under the circumstances, I wouldn't be allowing for your resurrection. You may pass on to live your afterlife peacefully in the Cauldron, seek out promotion to fight in the Crimson Legion, or... if your attachment to your land of birth remains strong, I could reincarnate you into a celestial and assign you to that land for the coming generation. Which one will you choose?"

'Let me protect my homeland,' Yegola says without hesitation, 'Trouble plagues it, even now.'

Seira grins. "The choice I would've made, in your place. Very well! Don't let Shar and other setbacks stop you from remembering what's truly important, and keep on acting as you have been. I have no complaints."

With that, Yegola's soul is allowed to express itself! Guided by Seira, it becomes a movanic deva, and she deposits him on the outskirts of Kesse, out of immediate sight.

She responds to Helm, then, with a gratefulness that comes through easily in her voice. "I did, thank you for your vigilance."

I will stand my duty. If you see Shar try this again outside of the rules and her follows doing it with magic, call on me. My duty will not allow her to take such liberties.

Of course. One day I'll be able to stop her on my own, but I'm not ashamed to call for help when it's needed.
