Nah, that's okay.

Ah, so if he uses his own morality, he'll surely fail, so with that in mind... he takes a breath.

Moore shakes his head. "Of course not. Divinations can be wrong. You can't always rely on them." A gesture, as if he's talking to the audience for flair, "You also said an ally -may- soon betray you. You don't know for certain they will."

Another gesture, this time at the efreet. "Perhaps it's efreet culture to immediately crush this ally, but why not instead simply let them prove their loyalty? Let them hang themselves with the rope you give them by allowing their actions to continue. If they prove themselves to betray you, then you have every right to interdict on them, but if you suspect an ally and then you're wrong -- you're the one who ends up looking like a failure."

Anastasia

The fat efreet nods along as Xandra watches him intensely, eyes narrow. Cresiel merely stands where he is, while Jetina listens in.

"Ah, a page from the great Crimson Firebrand's book," The fat efreet smiles, "Yes yes, let your allies prove themselves of hang themselves. It is well known that the Alliance of the Bonfires proved their own perfidy and weakness through this very method. For otherwise they would have been crushed before they could resist the Crimson Firebrand and his establishment of the City of Brass."

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

Moore gestures again. "Well, is there anything else?"

Anastasia

"Of course," The efreet chuckles, "Your harem is well kept and protected, yet you have evidence at least one of your harem has been unfaithful and sullied herself. Evidence suggests that someone in your own house has done so. How do you find and punish the offender, without defying the rights given by the Grand Sultan to all worthy efreet?"

Would K:P be the check for what those rules are?

Anastasia

By all means. Also sorry about the delay, Seira had a huge expo post I had to type out.

It's all good. Take 10 for 94.

Anastasia

The rules are fairly simple on the surface. Of course, long eons of time have added all sorts of crags, twists and expectations, but they boil down to this.

- Obey the Grand Sultan, as his will is supreme.
- Honor the Grand Sultan, as is only right.
- Do not take the life of another efreet without just cause.
- Do not defile female efreet, lest you be castrated or slain.
- Do not covet or steal another efreet's harem, lest you suffer the above fate.
- Always obey those of your family above you and wisely direct those below you.
- If you must do such things, come to the brothels the Sultan establishes and provides to all worthy efreet.

So, with that in mind, logically speaking, you're well within your rights to slay the offending efreet for their actions, excepting if this was someone in your own family above you?

Anastasia

One could argue it as such, certainly. The reality varies a bit, but that sort of thing is invariably ugly and often a political incident.

"So, the answer depends on certain factors, but I'll answer in a general sense. You are within your right to kill the offending efreet for their actions. If they happen to be above you in your family, then there are further considerations to be made, but it will end up being a rather scandalous incident regardless." Moore answers.

Anastasia

"Indeed," the efreet declares, "It is why women are kept in silken chambers and sweet-smelling paradises. Look at your women, parading around with you as warriors? However can you ensure their purity?"

Xandra merely withstands that comment without reaction and then adds, "Because I serve a higher purpose than fleshy carnality."

Jetina merely glances at Kaja, who smiles with far too many sharp, pointy teeth. "As Jetina wishes to say but clearly does not wish to do personally, rot in Hell."

"It's not real." Moore says to the others. "Anyway, I think I've proven I understand your culture well enough, and as the victor I'll be moving on."

Anastasia

"Not so fast," the efreet says, "You are still my enemy. Give me one reason not to strike you all down now."

"Because it's more sensible to respect and fear an enemy than to foolishly lose a battle you cannot win." Moore says.
