Deeper into the ice tunnel, the sound of water becoming louder. Crashing water now, starting to dominate. Around a bend and up, a sharp path up to a gaping opening.

The wind that blows into the tunnel from here is bitterly cold, far colder than the air you're leaving.

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Yuthirin

"You had to jinx it!" Calleigh says to Debonah.
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Anastasia

"Logic is not jinxing anything," Debonah retorts, while Miranda hurries ahead, going to peek at what lies beyond.

Waterfalls.

Waterfalls of ice and water, like great cups of ice water being endlessly poured out. You are hundreds of feet up now, looking down at dozens of waterfalls cascading down to a center pool far below. The air here is cold enough to be felt even with your wards against the cold. The pool below is radiant with energy, great chunks of ice going from vast bergs of white to perhaps house sized chunks of blue.

All about in the waters dwarves work. Dwarves with frost white skin and blue hair and bears, mining the blue ice from flat boats, loading up wicker baskets with it. Despite the water plunging from the waterfalls, it merges into the pool below smoothly, not the slightest ripple.

You can watch the boats come and go, but they all towards the far side of the room, where a river path leads further into the glacier.

'Huh. Some sort of frost dwarf?' Tryll wonders. 'I wonder if they're friendly.'

Calleigh casts Detect Evil.

Anastasia

Unfortunately for Calleigh, Detect Evil's 60ft radius is insufficient for this task. You'd have to fly down and get closer.

K:P can be made here.

They're dwarves who have become creatures of cold, affected by the energies here to become natives. They're otherwise dwarves, though they likely have some additional powers related to ice and cold.

'They're just dwarvses. We should go say hi. Maybe they won't want to kill us immediately?" Calleigh says.

Dana snorts at that.

Meanwhile Miranda murmurs, "They remind me of some of the dwarves from the deeper levels of Ysgard. It may be possible to talk them down or get them out of our way without a fight."

"Maybe they're just regular townies on Ice doing their thing? Whatever that thing is?" Calleigh stares down at the dwarves as they do their inscrutable ice whatever.

"They're mining," Debonah adds in here, "Do you see the blue colored ice. That's blue ice, a rare material used to make weapons and armor. It's expensive, in the same range as mithral for price. It never melts, so it's ideal for cold weapons outside of cold environments."

"So wait, all of that's like fucking mithral for money?" Dana whistles, "Shit, that's a lot of fucking money down there!"

Yuthirin

'Yes, but the real trick would be moving it all. It's not something that would sell quickly. Not in normal channels, anyway. You'd need a middle man or a proxy. Expensive. Unless you WANT to give up fighting and become a merchant?' Tryll replies.

"It's not our goal, anyway. Later," Debonah gestures, "We're wasting time just standing here and talking over money we can't do anything about right now."
