"If so then it would give Limbo greater cosmological significance. A training ground for divinity?" Alicia asks, before shaking her head. "But then why don't we see more gods emerging from there?"

Anastasia

"It would give Limbo a purpose," Syala corrects, "Beyond the chaos spawn that infest it. No, there must be something more, something limiting. Something limited there."

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

"This sort of conversation really needs Marie and Antenora's perspective," Alicia says dryly. "Mystra showed me her beginning recently, when the Incarnation of Law showed her all the planes she could call home before she chose Elysium. Limbo was shown to her as a place of perfect chaos, where even now all is unaccountable. So it follows that Limbo should be a place where anything is possible?"

Anastasia

"They are our main option for this sort of speculation," Syala agrees, "The Incarnations created us with the potential to rise this far and higher yet."

"Speaking of potential..." Alicia's eyes turn to the icon again. "Baleruk did say its rudimentary sense of self could be awakened further."

Anastasia

At this Syala merely asks, "Should we? We could, but should we?"

"It's not innately evil," Alicia points out. "Chaotic yes, and likely to be obsessed with physical sensation... but still, a life and worth guiding and protecting. Mmm... not yet perhaps. Once Marie has finished her current mission, so we'll have an extra hand around to help teach."

Anastasia

With a sidelong look at that, "Training wheels for her as well? I know Antenora's wanted a child."

"I hadn't so much thought of it like that," she shakes her head. "Just that she'll be a relatable chaotic influence for whatever mind arises out of the icon, and thus better able to serve as a role model."

Anastasia

A pause before she says, "Good idea," Syala finally replies, "Mmm. All these heavy, serious deific things always leave me feeling twitchy. Let's go wrestle." With an offered hand out, "Shall we, my lady?"

"Oh yes, I need to keep my unarmed skills sharp," she says with a warm smile, taking Syala's hand.

Sometime later you are soaking after a long wrestling business. Part of you deals with Syala's gentle teasing in the bath while the rest of you is lost in what you are.

A sensation. An ill omen settles over your church in Parsifal, south of Balmuria. An omen that smells of ozone, of crackling lightning.

A holy wanderer comes to the Astral. Something looms, waiting for him.

One of the priests of your temple in Balmuria, Alec, prepares a special offering but slips into jealousy of others. Hating those who serve with them, those who get in his way of your approval.

Ebiris

Oh, not shocker lizards surely?

Well, she'll kill two lizards with one stone in that case. Alec gets a prophetic dream/warning of attempting to bring his offering to her altar, not the one he'd recognise in Balmuria but the one in Parsifal if he happens to recognise it. Except he finds the temple empty of all but beady-eyed shocker lizards, watching as he places the offering before the church becomes an electrical maelstrom and he's returned to wakefulness.

Hopefully he'll also draw some conclusions about strength in numbers and having to rely on others rather than isolating himself with jealousy. The shocker lizards have that part right at least!

Also anyone praying for spells in Parsifal she'll give them a few resist energies in place of other spells she deems disposable for the moment.

As for the holy wanderer on the astral, she looks a little bit closer to see exactly what's looming there.

Anastasia

A dark thing - an aberration, a twisted thing. An aboleth in particular, looming and waiting for him.

Well if that holy wanderer isn't already on guard she'll give them a prickling sense of unease like the hairs on the back of their neck standing up. How they respond to that is up to them.
